Honey
Simmer honey in a copper vessel over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent burning. When it thickens like malt syrup, shape it into suppositories with a pointed tip the size of a finger. Mix in a small amount of *Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus* (Saponin) powder. Insert it into the anus while warm, hold the buttocks together, and remove it when defecation is desired.
This method is used to moisten dryness when Yin fluids are depleted and the "Po Men" (anus) is obstructed by dryness.
One Pig Gallbladder
Extract the bile and mix with a little vinegar. Use a bamboo tube three or four cun long or shorter. Insert half of the tube into the anus and pour the bile into the rectum. Defecation should occur shortly thereafter.
Bile is bitter and cold; it clears fire and moistens dryness, making it suitable for constipation caused by heat accumulation.

Da Chai Hu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction) is a formula that releases the exterior and purges the interior. This illustrates that when exterior symptoms have not resolved, even if interior symptoms are urgent, one should not solely focus on purging while ignoring the exterior condition.
However, fundamentally, the purgative power of this formula exceeds its exterior-releasing power. From this, one can understand the principle of prescription: medication must be administered according to the urgency and severity of the condition. By doing so, one naturally adheres to medical principles without being rigidly bound by fixed formulas.
Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) plus Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas) 6 liang
When Shaoyang syndrome has not resolved after the pathogen transmits again in Taiyang disease, and there is excess heat in the stomach, Mang Xiao is used to sweep away residual heat. Its action is milder than that of Da Chai Hu Tang.
Gui Zhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) plus Da Huang 1 liang, Shao Yao 3 liang
If Taiyang disease is mistakenly treated with purgatives, the pathogen may enter the Spleen rather than remaining in the Stomach. Therefore, Gui Zhi is still used to resolve Taiyang pathogens, while Da Huang is added to eliminate excess in the Taiyin Spleen.
Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba) 4 liang, Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Gan Cao (Licorizae Radix et Rhizoma, roasted), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 2 liang, Da Huang, Huang Qin 3 liang
Plague diseases may strike directly into the organs without transmitting through the meridians. In the initial stage, multiple meridians may be affected simultaneously. Therefore, releasing the exterior and purging the interior is not considered too early.

Decoct with Sheng Jiang and Cong Bai (Scallion White).
Although it is claimed to treat all internal and external pathogens, it should only be used when the interior and exterior, as well as the San Jiao (Triple Burner), are full of excess, as described in the annotations. Otherwise, the harsh nature of Mang Xiao and Da Huang, and the deep-cold property of Shi Gao and Hua Shi, would be intolerable for ordinary conditions. Shuang Jie San (Double-Resolving Decoction) has already removed Da Huang and Mang Xiao; regarding Shi Gao and Hua Shi, my opinion remains that...
