Treatment for wind-worm toothache
Bitter bean (Crotonis Fructus, Badou) and pepper (Piperis Nigris Fructus, Hujiao)
Grind into fine powder, mix with rice from the granary to form pills the size of mung beans. Wrap each pill in cotton and insert it into the affected tooth; pain will stop immediately.

Treatment for toothache and continuous bleeding from the gums and tongue
Take a small amount of Toad Venom (Bufonis Venenum, Chansu) mentioned above and apply it to the affected area.

Treatment for toothache
Green salt (Natrii Chloridum Rubrum, Qingyan), Alum (Alumen, Baifan), and Sichuan pepper (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, Huajiao) (in equal parts)
Grind into fine powder, place inside a lychee shell, wrap securely, and calcine over fire until the original properties are retained (Cunxing). Take out, grind into powder again, and apply to the affected area.

Use the root bark of Genkwa flower (Genkwa Flos, Yuanhua), remove soil, and chew it at the painful spot; pain will cease.

Another prescription: Soak Genkwa flower together with Sichuan pepper and vinegar, chew at the painful spot for a long time, then spit out; do not swallow.

○ Method for rescuing from freezing death
For anyone who appears dead from cold exposure, with stiff limbs, locked jaw, but faint breath remaining, heat ashes in a large cauldron, place them in a bag, and apply as a hot compress to the heart region; replace when cool. Once eyes open and breath returns, gradually administer warm rice soup. If the heart is not warmed first and direct fire application is used, the cold qi will contend with the fire qi, leading to certain death.

○ Method for rescuing from drowning
For a drowned person rescued onto shore, immediately bring a live cow. Place the victim's abdomen transversely across the cow's back. Have people support both sides and lead the cow to walk slowly, which helps expel water from the stomach. If the victim regains consciousness, rub the teeth with Suhe Xiang (Styrax, Benzoin) or old ginger. If no cow is available, have a living person lie supine on a bench. Place the victim's abdomen against the living person's body as described above; once water is expelled, life returns.

○ Method for rescuing from hanging/suicide by strangulation
If someone is found hanging high, gently hold the deceased, untie the rope without cutting it. Gently manipulate the throat to align it, lay the body flat, and cover with a blanket. Use a bamboo tube to blow air into both ears. One person should urgently pull the hair without letting go, while another places two feet on the shoulders. A third person massages the chest and flexes/extends the limbs. When revival begins, administer rice soup. This method saves all lives; even if cold from morning to evening, rescue is possible. However, if from evening to morning when yin qi is dominant, rescue is difficult.

○ Method for rescuing from sleep paralysis/demon oppression death
For death due to sleep paralysis (Yan si) and all sudden deaths or acute collapse where medication fails, urgently moxa the Renzhong point (GV26, Renzhong) and three to five moxa cones at points one leek-leaf width away from the nails of the big toes on both feet; life will return.
Another prescription: For emergency rescue of sudden death, whether preceded by illness or occurring suddenly during rest, this is Zhong'e (sudden evil invasion). Instill juice of Chinese chive (Allii Tuberosi Bulbus, Jiu Zhi) into the nose.
Another prescription: Treatment for apparent death during sleep
Take one handful of the root of Euphorbia lathyris (Euphorbiae Lathyridis Radix, Chu Li Shi), stir in water to extract juice. Swallow slowly; if the jaw is clenched, force-feed it.
