在手指上辨别青纹,认定为四足动物惊吓所致;黑色是因为被水扑倒;
Where the tiger's mouth (web between thumb and index finger) shows chaotic lines, one must know that Qi is disharmonious; a bluish color indicates fright or accumulation.
If the lines extend downward accompanied by diarrhea, how should it be treated?
If cyan and black appear, it is likely slow convulsion (Man Jing Fa); if the lines enter the palm, it is mostly internal suspension (Nei Diao).
If the three gates (San Guan) lines suddenly connect through, this prognosis will definitely show a deep pulse (Chen Mai).
Red lines appearing like threads on both left and right hands indicate spleen injury with fever and fright.
If there are double lines on the right hand similar to the left condition, it arises from simultaneous food stagnation and fright accumulation.
Lines resembling the character "three" at the head indicate lung Qi generating phlegm with nocturnal sounds.
Red and cyan colors suggest cold damage symptoms; a single red line definitely indicates diarrhea.
Distinguishing blue lines on the fingers identifies them as fright from four-legged animals; black indicates being splashed by water;
red indicates fright from people; purple indicates heat with diarrhea; yellow indicates thunder fright.
Curved areas show prevailing wind; bifurcated areas show steaming food stagnation. Only by observing specific hand locations can the form be distinguished.
For sick children, diagnosis must rely on the pulse; using one finger on the three gates determines the respiration rate.
A floating and full pulse indicates prevailing wind; a rapid pulse suggests many cases of fright; a deficient and cold pulse is deep and slow, while a solid pulse indicates accumulation.
For children aged one to three years, the respiration rate should be eight beats per breath; nine beats indicate unrest, ten beats indicate distress, and irregularities in length, size, etc., are due to pathogenic interference.
A tight pulse in children indicates wind epilepsy; a deep pulse requires knowing it stems from difficult breastfeeding; abdominal pain with a tight, wiry, firm, and solid pulse along with constipation, or a deep and slow pulse, indicates cold in the bones.
A large pulse in children is mostly due to wind-heat; a deep and fine pulse is due to milk and food knotting; a wiry and long pulse indicates stomach and liver wind; a tight and rapid pulse indicates wind convulsions with limb jerking.
A floating and full pulse suggests the stomach feels like burning fire; a deep and tight pulse indicates unceasing abdominal pain; a deficient and soggy pulse indicates Qi deficiency with wind; a knifelike (Kou) pulse often indicates dysentery with bloody stools.
Larger anteriorly and smaller posteriorly is a smooth pediatric pulse; smaller anteriorly and larger posteriorly definitely indicates Qi reversal and throat obstruction; nine beats with a full pulse causes bitter vexation and fullness; deep and fine pulses cause cutting abdominal pain.
A slippery pulse indicates injury from dew, dampness, and cold; a wiry and long pulse clearly describes external shock (Ke Wu); a peaceful respiration of seven to eight beats per breath is the wonderful secret passed down by sages.
Generally, for children aged one to seven, eight beats per breath, or sometimes six beats, is a peaceful, disease-free pulse; nine beats is a rapid pulse, ten beats is an extreme pulse, five beats is a slow pulse, four beats... [Text ends abruptly]
The normal constitution and appearance of a child show naturally dignified demeanor. There are no dry nasal discharges, nor any saliva in the throat.
Hair is dyed dark like indigo, lips are fresh like dotted pearls. The face shines like flowers reflecting bamboo, the chin blooms like a lotus in water.
They smile when guided, not because their hands are restricted. Even if they cry, they do not cry much; though they sleep, they do not sleep long.
Their mind is calm like still waves, their emotion bright like the clear moon. This child is safe and auspicious; why worry about illness entangling them?
