The six ingredients are mixed and ground evenly. Place them in a clay crucible (shahe) so that the medicine fills about one-third of its capacity. Seal the seams first with Kaolinite (Chishizhi) powder, then reinforce externally with Liuyi Ni (Six-One Mud). Wait until completely dry. Perform the fusion on an auspicious day (Jingming Liuhe). Make three mud pillars, five cun high, stable like tripod legs, to support the crucible. Place three jin of charcoal underneath, adding charcoal gradually to maintain a total of five jin, only under the bottom of the crucible, not exceeding the rim, for a period of five days. Soak the crucible in cold water until the mud softens, remove the mud, and gently open the crucible.
