Whenever a carbuncle or ulcer has ulcerated and the necrotic flesh is gradually exhausted, if the wound opening is large but still exudes yellow thick pus, and touching the muscle at the bottom of the wound causes fresh blood to flow; or if the wound opening is small and deep, requiring the insertion of a medicated wick until red blood appears; as well as cases where a sinus tract formed over a long period, which after being elevated and removed, subsequent insertion of tissue-regenerating medicines also feels like muscle growth and blood seepage—these conditions can achieve healing regardless of whether it happens early or late. For the above various symptoms, if upon ulceration there flows thin pus or dirty black fluid, or yellow water and white serum, this indicates early injury to Qi and Blood, corruption of muscles, and an inability of Yin and Yang mechanisms to stimulate and drive regeneration. Their regenerative function is ineffective, failing to create substance from nothing. How can one expect to gather the muscles and close the wound, expecting it to heal in a few days?
Those who naturally have abundant Dampness and blazing Heat, or who indulge in alcohol leading to internal Dampness generation, or who prefer spicy foods causing Heat to knot within the Zang-Fu organs, over time can all harbor parasites that breed internally, flow into the Large Intestine, and lodge in the anus, causing extreme itching. Although taking decocted herbal medicines and applying external fumigation and washing therapies ultimately show no effect. Now, a verified prescription is listed below:
Almond (2 qian) Calomelas (1 qian) Coptidis Rhizoma (2 qian) Chukwania Fruit (1 qian) Cnidii Fructus (2 qian) Zanthoxypi Pericarpium (1 qian) Borneolum Syntheticum (1 qian) Alum (1 qian) Phellodendri Cortex (3 qian)
Grind together into fine powder, mash with black date pulp, form into strips about as thick as a pen and roughly one cun long, dry them, wrap externally in silk cotton, tie a cotton thread tightly around one end of the medicinal strip to form a knot, insert into the anus, leaving the thread hanging outside. Change once a day, and the root cause will be eliminated in a few days.
When a person is constrained internally by Dampness pathogen, the limbs feel heavy and stiff, without aversion to cold or fever, the complexion lacks luster, and spirit is listless. Upon seeing food, one feels nauseous, lacks appetite, and does not wish to eat; if prolonged, it is difficult to resolve. This should be specifically attributed to the Spleen, not related to the Stomach. The Spleen favors aromatic and drying properties; drying the Spleen eliminates Dampness, just as wet ground dries instantly upon exposure to sunlight and wind. This differs from Damp-Heat in the Stomach Meridian, which is suitable for leaching and moistening. Regarding Dampness stagnating in the Spleen, one must especially avoid using tonifying and cloying substances, which would obstruct the Middle Jiao. The treatment formula is attached below.
Scorched Red Poria (3 qian) Scorched Coix Seed (3 qian) Scorched Medicated Leaven (3 qian) Scorched Broad Bean Peel (3 qian) Scorched Alisma Rhizome (1 qian) Scorched Benincasa Seed (3 qian) Scorched Artemisiae Capillariae Herba (1.5 qian) Scorched Plantaginis Seed (3 qian)
Use scorched aged rice as a guide, one wine cup, wrapped in cloth and simmered.
