Indicated for sudden onset of evil qi invasion (Zhong E), hostile spirit intrusion (Ke Wu), five corpse pathogens entering the abdomen, ghostly stabs and排的 (Gui Ci Gui Pai), as well as poisoning from gu toxins (Gu Du Zhu), hematemesis (Tu Xue), hematochezia (Xia Xue), sudden heart and abdominal pain, abdominal distension with alternating chills and fever.
Formula for toxic diseases persisting for six to seven days:
Xionghuang (Realgar, 2 liang) Dansha (Cinnabar, 1 liang) Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, 1 fen) Lilu (Veratrum Nigrum, 7 zhu) Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, 5 fen, processed, peeled) Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, half liang, perspired, eyes and closed-mouth grains removed) Yege (Kadsura Longipedunculata Root Bark, 21 zhu) Yuanhua (Genkwa Flower, 10 zhu) Badou Ren (Croton Seed Kernel, 35 pieces, heart removed, roasted)
The above nine ingredients: only Badou is separately processed into a paste-like consistency; the remaining ingredients are sifted into fine powder. Mix the Badou paste with the powder and pound again until thoroughly blended. Store in a porcelain vessel, seal tightly to prevent leakage of qi. In emergencies, administer orally with water, dose equivalent to the size of a coin (qian bi); may increase up to half a qian bi. Dosage for elderly and children should be halved. If the pathology is in the head, detoxification occurs via epistaxis (Bi Nu); if in the upper diaphragm, via vomiting (Tu); if in the lower diaphragm, via diarrhea (Li); if in the four limbs, via sweating (Han Chu). This is referred to as "like hot water pouring on snow," yielding immediate results upon application. This is a thousand-gold secret formula; do not transmit it unless to a virtuous person.
Formula for sudden severe chest pain, pallor, and impending death:
Wrap salt the size of a bullet in cloth, heat until red-hot, dissolve in wine, and administer. Recovery follows when bowel movement or urination occurs.
Formula for sudden ghost-strike or flying corpse injury, characterized by abrupt cessation of breath and loss of consciousness, or apparent death with clenched jaws that cannot be opened. After forcing the mouth open and inserting the decoction, if the patient cannot swallow, part the hair, grasp the shoulders from left and right, pull gently to facilitate swallowing, then administer an additional one sheng of the decoction. The patient will revive shortly.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, 4 liang, nodes removed) Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, 2 liang) Gancao (Licorice Root, 1 liang, honey-fried) Xingren (Prunus Armeniaca Seed, 70 pieces, tips and skins removed, double-kernels discarded)
The above four ingredients: coarsely crush, decoct in eight sheng of water to obtain three sheng, divide into three doses.
Formula for sudden ghost-strike or knife/wound injuries, where blood leaks into the abdomen but does not exit, causing severe fullness and suffocation:
Administer Xionghuang powder with wine, one dao gui per dose, three times daily. The blood transforms into water and exits.
Discussion: For the preparation of all major emergency pills and powders, the mixing and blending should be conducted on clear, sunny days during the prosperous phases of the four seasons. One must observe purity and abstinence, avoiding impurity, and perform the preparation in a clean place. Ensure that no miscellaneous people, cats, dogs, livestock, or incomplete persons (including women) witness the process; otherwise, the medicine will lack efficacy. These details cannot be fully enumerated. If these rules cannot be followed, there is no need to prepare the medicine, as it would merely waste money and effort, rendering it no different from rotten wood. During the Wude era, I prepared Yuhu Wan (Jade Pot Pill); at that time, the weather was overcast. After the medicine was completed, it ultimately proved ineffective and was eventually discarded. Such formulas were mostly created by ancient immortals and sages out of compassion for those suffering in distress, to save them. It is said that when purchasing herbs, one should not haggle over the price; one should understand this profound meaning.
