Whenever a person is bitten by a tiger, blood will gush out, the wound will ulcerate, and the pain will be unbearable. Immediately burn green cloth to fumigate the wound, so that the toxin will be expelled. Then boil Puerariae Radix (Kudzu Root) juice until thick and wash the wound with it, ten times a day. Also, crush Puerariae Radix into powder and administer it with Puerariae Radix juice. Each dose is one Fangcunbi (a square-inch measure), taken five times a day; for severe cases, add two doses at night. Another method: urgently apply fresh pork to the wound; replace the pork as it dissolves. Meanwhile, take one jin of Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu), grind it into fine powder, add three liang of Panax notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Sanqi) powder and four liang of Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen) powder, mix evenly, and sprinkle on the wound. The bleeding will stop and the pain will subside naturally.
First, suck out and remove the bad blood, then moxa ten Zhu (moxa cones) in the center of the wound. Thereafter, moxa one Zhu daily until reaching a total of one hundred Zhu, then stop. Additionally, for any dog bite, symptoms recur every seven days. If no recurrence occurs after twenty-one days (three sevens), the danger passes. Therefore, drink one to two sheng of Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (Xie) juice every seventh day. After one hundred days, one is considered fully safe. Lifelong abstinence from eating dog meat and silkworm pupae is required; if relapse occurs, it cannot be saved.
Refine Pine Resin (Songzhi) for pasting, or use mud from under the eaves for application, which is also good.
Apply menstrual blood from a woman to the wound; this is most effective. Alternatively, cut chicken comb blood and apply it to the bitten wound, three times a day. For male horses, use female chickens; for female horses, use male chickens.
Crush Colocasia esculenta (Cigu) herb and apply it to the wound; the condition will heal. The herb resembling swallow's tail leaves is the correct one and highly effective. Alternatively, crush Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Shewang/Chuang Niu Jian) and apply it to the swelling; once blood flows out, the condition heals.
This snake has a bright green color and likes to climb trees and bamboo, blending in with them. When people walk through bamboo forests, they may fail to notice it suddenly, and if it falls on their head or back and bites, death ensues. It is commonly known as Qingtiao Snake. Those with a different colored tail tip of two to three cun are called [Name] Tail Snake, possessing particularly potent venom. Treatment: Cut open a black-bone chicken and apply it hot to the wound. Or, mix equal parts of Realgar (Xionghuang) and Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang), grind and sieve them, mix with Shewang, place in a small bamboo tube, carry it with you, and apply to the wound when urgent. It also treats various snake venoms.
The Viper (Fushe) is short in body, with a flat head and pointed mouth, spotted head, and red patterned body markings. Some are blue-black. When bitten, the head and abdomen adhere closely. Its venom is extremely potent; caution is necessary when walking in grass. Treatment: Grind equal parts of Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin) and Realgar (Xionghuang) into powder, insert into the wound, and apply three to four times a day. Alternatively, burn centipedes, grind into powder, and apply to the wound; this is also effective. For daily prevention: Mix equal parts of Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin) and Trichosanthis Fructus (Gualou), grind into powder, seal tightly in a small bamboo tube, wear it outside. If suddenly bitten by a Fushe, apply immediately. This medicine treats all snake venoms, but if not sealed tightly, the efficacy will dissipate, rendering it useless.
