Nao Bing (Borneol), Xiancai Gen (Amaranthus root, ash form), Bohe (Mint), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark) each 1 qian; Pengsha (Borax), Ercha (Catechu) each 1.5 qian; Renzhongbai (Human excremental deposit), Shandougen (Sophora tonkinensis Root), Huhuanglian (Picrorhiza Rhizome) each 2 qian; Kufan (Alum calcined), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Longgu (Fossilized mammal bones), Wumei Rou (Mume Fruit pulp) each 0.5 qian.
Grind each ingredient into fine powder separately, mix evenly, and use a nasal/throat insufflator to blow the powder into the throat lesion.
Alternatively, take Chan Su Wan (Toad Venom Pill) and hold it in the mouth to slowly swallow. (See Volume 11, under "Bi Ding" / Nasal Carbuncle). One or two pills will result in a cure.
The symptom initially presents like a plum pit: unable to spit it out, unable to swallow it down. After a long time, it gradually moves up to the area of the laryngeal prominence (Adam's apple). The following prescription is suitable:
Yanxiao (Saltpeter) 1.5 liang, Pengsha (Borax) 5 qian, Xionghuang (Realgar) 2 qian, Baijiangcan (White Silkworm) 1 qian, Nao Bing (Borneol) 0.2 fen.
Grind together into fine powder, hold in the mouth, do not swallow.
Pengsha (Borax) 1 liang, Hezi Rou (Terminalia Chebula pulp) 2 qian, Yuanmingfen (Mirabilite), Danning (Arisaema cum Bile) each 1 qian, Nao Bing (Borneol) 0.3 fen.
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Take 1 liang of large Wumei (Mume Fruit), mash thoroughly, and mix with the powder to form pills the size of a bullet. Hold one pill in the mouth; a night's duration will lead to recovery. Alternatively, use the following prescription:
Xingren (Apricot Seed) 0.3 fen.
Stir-fry/roast it, then separately pound Gui (Cinnamon Twig) 1 fen into a paste-like consistency. Take a Lihe (Plum stone), wrap it in cotton, and hold it gently in the mouth. Apply five times during the day and three times at night.
Bohe (Mint) 0.2 fen, Shexiang (Musk) 0.05 fen.
Grind into fine powder and insufflate into the throat. Wait until approximately one bowl of saliva/phlegm is expectorated. Then, decoct 2 he of aged rice (Chenmi) in water and drink the soup. Do not consume tea, alcohol, or other liquids beforehand, otherwise treatment will be difficult.
Finely chop Qiangwei Gen (Rose Root), boil densely to extract juice, and use for gargling. Use roots in winter, branches and leaves in summer.
Take good quality honey, scoop with a spoon, and slowly swallow, allowing it to go down.
Take Yitang (Maltose) and form pills the size of a chicken egg yolk to swallow. If the foreign body does not pass, swallow larger pills gradually, increasing the size as needed. This method is effective.
Hu Gu (Tiger Bone) ground into powder, taken orally with water using a measure of one cun chi (approx. 3-4 ml), will cause the obstruction to descend. Alternatively, swallowing Lougu Nao (Mole brain) also facilitates expulsion.
In the twelfth lunar month, collect Dan (Gallbladder) from Guiyu (Mandarin Fish), hang it under the north eaves to dry. For each dose, take an amount the size of a soap bean, dissolve by decocting with wine, and sip warm. If vomiting occurs, the object will be expelled along with stubborn phlegm. If vomiting does not occur, drink more warm wine; inducing vomiting is ideal. The amount of wine should be adjusted according to individual tolerance. If the object has not been expelled, decoct another piece; there will be no case where it fails to be expelled. If Mandarin Fish cannot be obtained, Liyu, Huanyu (Grass Carp), or Jiyu (Crucian Carp) are acceptable substitutes. Collecting them in the twelfth lunar month yields excellent results.
