[Head-Washing Brightening Eye Formula]
Fengyancao (Phellodendri Cortex, specifically referring to the gall on the Toona tree): Burn it into ash, leach with water to obtain the lye for washing the head. Wash according to specific days for one year, and the eyes will become as bright as a child's. Adding ash from Phellodendri Cortex is even better.
The dates for using the above medicine are: the 7th day of the first lunar month, the 8th of the second, the 4th of the third, the 5th of the fourth, the 2nd of the fifth, the 4th of the sixth, the 7th of the seventh, the 3rd of the eighth, the 20th of the ninth, the 23rd of the tenth, the 29th of the eleventh, and the 14th of the twelfth.
[Jue Ming San]
Treats all kinds of eye diseases.
Ingredients include: Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Jiemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Danchengming (Dancheng Stone), Qingxiangzi (Celosiae Semen), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Gujingcao (Pseudobullbocaulis Herba), and Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum). One ingredient requires special processing: grown in water, pounded and sieved into thin slices, roasted over mild and strong fire until dry, then pounded and sieved again; repeat this process seven times, stopping when finely sieved.
Take 7 fen of the above powder each time. Take it at dawn (Wugeng) while dressed, mixed with clear tea from aged leaves. Repeat at noon and before bed. For small polyps or fleshy growths that are swollen, red, and painfully intolerable, improvement is seen within three to five days. For severe red and white pannus covering the pupil causing long-term blindness, take for seven days; symptoms will reduce by three to five points, and vision will improve. By the second seven-day period, the pannus will detach from the eye like red and white thick glue. Within half a month to twenty-one days, the eye will recover completely as if never diseased. If the root is withered and dead, it cannot be treated; if alive, it can be cured. The saying goes: How to know if it is alive or dead? If there is emotional distress, excessive indulgence in alcohol and sex, and eye pain triggered by wind and rain, it is an "alive" eye. If there are no tears and no pain, it is named "rootless," and treatment should cease. This medicine forbids toxic fish noodles, pork, alcohol, and sexual activity.
