精气调和。则肾脏强盛。耳闻五音。若劳伤气血。兼受风寒。损于肾脏而精脱。精脱则耳聋也。然
五脏六腑十二经脉。有络于耳者。其阴阳经气有相并时。并则脏逆。名之曰厥。气搏于耳之脉。故
令聋。其肾病精脱耳聋者。其候颊颧色黑。手少阳之脉动。其气厥逆而耳聋者。其证耳内辉辉
也。手太阳厥而耳聋者。其候聋而耳内气满也。
【烧肾散】治耳聋。
附子（炮。去皮。一两） 川椒（一两。去其目） 磁石（一两。醋淬七遍。研。水飞）
上为末。用猪肾一枚。去筋膜细切。葱、薤白各一分。入药末一钱。盐花一字。和令匀。以十
重湿纸裹于溏。灰火内烧熟。空心细嚼。酒解薄粥下之。十日效。
【犀角散】治风毒热壅。心胸痰滞。两耳虚聋。头重目眩。神效。
犀角屑 甘菊花 前胡（去芦） 枳壳（麸炒黄）
菖蒲 泽泻 羌活 木通
生干地黄（各半两） 麦门冬（一两。去心。或作二两） 甘草（二钱炙）
上为末。每服三钱。水一盏。煎至五分。去渣。食后。温服。
【茯神散】治上焦风热。耳忽聋鸣。四肢满急。胸膈痞满。昏闷不利。
茯神 羌活 蔓荆子 防风
菖蒲 薏苡仁 黄 五味子（各半两）
麦门冬（去心。一两） 甘草（二钱。炙）
上为末。每服三钱。水一中盏。生姜半分。煎至五分。去渣。食后。温服。
《黄帝针经》说：精气耗脱的人会出现耳聋。肾是足少阴经，它贮藏精气并与耳相通。耳是众多经脉汇聚的地方。如果精气调和，肾脏就会强盛，耳朵就能听到五音。如果劳倦损伤气血，又兼受风寒侵袭，损害了肾脏导致精气耗脱，精气耗脱就会导致耳聋。然而，五脏六腑和十二经脉中，有络脉连接于耳的。当它们的阴阳经气相合并聚时，并聚就会导致脏腑气机逆乱，这种情况称为“厥”。气搏击于耳部的脉络，所以会导致耳聋。如果是肾病导致的精气耗脱性耳聋，其症状表现为脸颊和颧骨部位颜色发黑。如果是手少阳经脉气机逆乱导致的耳聋，其证候表现为耳内有嗡嗡作响的声音。如果是手太阳经脉气机逆乱导致的耳聋，其症状表现为耳聋且耳内感觉气满胀。
【烧肾散】治疗耳聋。
附子（炮制，去皮，一两） 川椒（一两，去掉目状突起） 磁石（一两，用醋淬炼七遍，研磨，水飞法处理）
以上药物研为细末。取猪肾一枚，去除筋膜后切成细丝，加入葱、薤白各一分，药末一钱，盐花一字，混合均匀。用十层湿纸包裹，埋在灰火中烧熟。空腹细细咀嚼，用薄粥送服以解酒气（或理解为用酒送服薄粥）。十日可见效。
【犀角散】治疗风毒热邪壅滞，心胸痰浊停滞，两耳虚聋，头重目眩，效果神奇。

生干地黄（各半两） 麦门冬（一两，去心，也可用二两） 甘草（二钱，炙过）
以上药物研为细末。每次服用三钱，用水一盏，煎煮至五分，去渣滓。饭后温服。
【茯神散】治疗上焦风热，耳朵突然聋鸣，四肢胀满拘急，胸膈痞闷胀满，昏沉烦闷不利。

以上药物研为细末。每次服用三钱，用水一中盏，生姜半分，煎煮至五分，去渣滓。饭后温服。
The *Huangdi Zhenjing* (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Acupuncture) states: "When essence and qi are depleted, deafness occurs." The Kidney is the Foot-Shaoyin meridian, which stores essence and qi and connects to the ear. The ear is the gathering point of numerous meridians. If essence and qi are harmonious, the Kidney becomes strong, and the ears can perceive the five tones. However, if labor and injury damage the blood and qi, combined with exposure to wind-cold, damaging the Kidney and causing depletion of essence, this depletion of essence leads to deafness. Nevertheless, among the Five Zang and Six Fu organs and the Twelve Principal Meridians, there are collateral vessels connecting to the ear. When the yin and yang meridian qi merge and converge, this convergence causes rebellion in the organ qi, a condition named "Jue" (Reversal). When qi clashes with the vessels in the ear, it results in deafness. In cases of Kidney disease where essence depletion causes deafness, the clinical manifestation includes black discoloration of the cheeks and zygomatic bones. In cases where the Hand-Shaoyang meridian qi rebels and causes deafness, the symptom is a buzzing sound within the ear. In cases where the Hand-Taiyang meridian qi rebels and causes deafness, the symptom is deafness accompanied by a sensation of fullness of qi in the ear.
[Shaoshen San] (Burnt Kidney Powder) treats deafness.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateral Root), peeled, 1 liang; Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper), 1 liang, remove the eyes; Cishi (Magnetitum), 1 liang, quenched in vinegar seven times, ground, processed by water flotation.
Grind the above into powder. Take one pig kidney, remove the fascia, cut finely, add Congbai (Scallion White) and Xiebai (Allium Macrostemon Bulb), each 1 fen, medicinal powder 1 qian, Yanhua (Salt Flower) 1 zi, mix evenly. Wrap in ten layers of wet paper, bury in ash fire, and roast until cooked. Chew thoroughly on an empty stomach, take down with thin porridge after resolving alcohol effects (or taken with wine and thin porridge). Efficacy seen in ten days.
[Xijiao San] (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) treats wind-toxin and heat stagnation, phlegm obstruction in the chest and heart, virtual deafness in both ears, heavy head and dizzy eyes, with miraculous effect.
Xijiao Jie (Rhinoceros Horn Shavings); Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos); Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), remove the radicle; Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), stir-bran fried until yellow; Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma); Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma); Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix); Mutong (Akebiae Caulis); Shenggan Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens dried), each half liang; Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix), 1 liang, remove the heart (can also be 2 liang); Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), 2 qian, honey-fried.
Grind the above into powder. Each dose is 3 qian, decoct with one zhan of water until reduced to 0.5 zhan, strain dregs. Take warm after meals.
[Fushen San] (Poria Spirit Powder) treats upper jiao wind-heat, sudden deafness and tinnitus, fullness and urgency in the four limbs, epigastric and diaphragmatic distension and fullness, drowsiness and mental cloudiness.
Fushen (Poria with Hostwood); Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix); Manjingzi (Viticis Semen); Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix); Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma); Yiyiren (Coicis Semen); Huangqi (Astragali Radix); Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), each half liang; Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix), remove the heart, 1 liang; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), 2 qian, honey-fried.
Grind the above into powder. Each dose is 3 qian, decoct with one zhong zhan of water and half a fen of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) until reduced to 0.5 zhan, strain dregs. Take warm after meals.
