A young woman had an orifice on her head. Whenever she coughed, pus and blood would discharge corresponding to this orifice; this is Fei Wei (Lung Withering, a chronic deficiency syndrome characterized withering of the lung lobes). She was cured using Ren Shen (Ginseng), [missing character in original text], Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis), Bai Shao (White Peony Root), along with herbs that clear heat and drain pus.
Those suffering from She Jia (Snake Mass, a pathological mass formed by ingesting snake essence or snake meat) occur when snake essence contaminates vegetables which are then mistakenly eaten, causing a snake-like formation in the abdomen; eating snake meat can also cause this. The symptoms include constant hunger, but food is vomited immediately after ingestion. One dried red-headed centipede is roasted, ground into powder, divided into two doses, and taken with wine.
For those who drank dragon essence and developed Long Jia (Dragon Mass), three sheng of cold-food rice is prescribed. Consume five ge per meal, three times a day. Recovery occurs upon vomiting.
For masses caused by accidentally ingesting snakes or soft-shelled turtles, or pain resulting from eating turtle, one sheng of chicken manure is stir-fried until yellow, soaked in wine overnight, clarified, and stored separately. The wine is then evaporated by frying with the manure residue until dry, ground into powder, and administered with clarified wine (one ge) for recovery.
Ji Jia (Chicken Mass, abdominal masses due to excessive chicken consumption) often involves cold phlegm. The physician stated: "This is due to excessive consumption of boiled white chicken." Cooked garlic (two or three cloves) was eaten, resulting in the expulsion of an object the size of a sheng, wrapped in phlegm and saliva. Upon opening it, it was found to be a chicken egg. After taking cooked garlic again, thirteen eggs were expelled before recovery.
A postpartum woman suffered injury where the uterus ruptured, preventing urination and causing constant leakage. Raw silk gauze was cut into pieces, combined with one qian each of Bai Mudan Gen Pi (White Tree Peony Bark) and Bai Ji (Bletilla Rhizome) powders. Boiled in one bowl of water until the silk disintegrated into a syrup-like consistency, it was consumed in one dose on an empty stomach. Silence must be maintained during administration for immediate effect.
When a person lies down and suddenly appears dead, with gas moving in the abdomen making sounds like thunder, it is called Shi Jue (Corpse Trance, a state resembling death). One liang of Liu Huang (Sulfur) and five qian of Yan Xiao (Saltpeter) are finely ground, divided into three doses. Decocted in good wine, heating stops when smoke rises. It is administered warm. After a short while, another dose is given, leading to awakening.
For sores protruding like a snake's head several inches long, applying Xiong Huang (Realgar) and Liu Huang (Sulfur) causes them to subside.
Some suffer from Ren Mian Chuang (Human-faced Sore), usually on the thighs, resembling a human face with mouth and eyes. When medicine is applied, the sore consumes it; when fed food, it eats it all. One day, Bei Mu (Fritillaria Bulb) powder was applied; the sore closed its mouth and refused it. Pulling at the sore's opening multiple times led to recovery.
A patient had an ulcerating orifice on the chest with constant bleeding for over twenty years without effect from treatment. A practitioner advised using Lu Rong (Deer Antler) roasted with butter, Fu Zi (Prepared Aconite Root) soaked in salt flowers, and jujube flesh made into pills. Thirty pills taken with wine per dose proved effective.
