(Shiqiao [Mole Cricket Larva]) is slightly cold in nature and toxic. It primarily treats hematemesis stagnating in the chest and abdomen that does not resolve, as well as bone fractures, blood stasis masses, internal blockage from metal wounds (Jinchuang), postpartum cold invasion, and insufficient lactation.
Also known as KT Qi, or simply Qi. It grows in Hebei region and among grass accumulated with manure in households. It can be harvested at any time; however, those that walk backwards are considered more effective. (It acts under the guidance of Feimeng [Blind Fly], and is opposed to Fuzi [Prepared Aconite Root].)
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Shiqiao tastes salty and is slightly warm. It treats evil blood and blood stasis; *Taiping Yulan* records it as treating blood bi, qi stagnation, fractures, hardness and fullness with pain under the ribs, amenorrhea, and leukoma (yin fu) in the eyes.
(Kuoyu [Slug]) is non-toxic. Also known as Tuwo or Fuwo. It grows under stone walls in sandy areas in shade, such as in Mount Tai. It is harvested in August.
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Kuoyu tastes salty and is cold. It treats wind-stroke causing deviation (hemiplegia), tendon逸 (laxity), rectal prolapse, and convulsions/spasms due to fright and epilepsy. Also known as Lingli. It grows in ponds and marshes.
(Haige [Clam Shell]) tastes salty and is non-toxic. It treats impotence. It grows in the East Sea. (It acts under the guidance of Shuqi [Herba Descurainiae], and fears Goudan [Dog Gallbladder], Gansui [Radix Euphorbiae Kansui], and Yuanhua [Flos Genkwa].)
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Haige tastes bitter and is neutral. It treats cough with rebellious qi, wheezing, irritability, fullness, chest pain accompanied by aversion to cold and fever. Also known as Kuike.

It grows in the East Sea, has patterns on its shell, and can be harvested at any time.
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Wenge treats malignant sores and erosion, and five types of hemorrhoids.
(Liyu [Carp]) is non-toxic. The meat tastes sweet and treats cough with rebellious qi, jaundice, and thirst. Fresh meat treats edema and swollen legs, and directs qi downward. The bones treat leukorrhea (red and white discharge) in women. The teeth treat lithuria (stone strangury). It grows in Jiujiang and can be harvested at any time.
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Liyu Dan (Carp Gallbladder) tastes bitter and is cold. It treats heat-redness and pain in the eyes, blindness (qingmang), and brightens the vision. Long-term consumption makes one robust and enhances willpower and qi. It grows in ponds and marshes.
