Discussion states: The condition of Taiyang disease (Taiyang disorder) complicated by food toxicity is what the world calls "Taiyang disease with retained food" (Jia Shi Shang Han). The *Jia Yi Jing* records: Pathogenic factors arising from the Yang aspect are caused by wind, rain, cold, and summer heat; pathogenic factors attacking the Yin aspect are caused by diet, living conditions, yin-yang imbalance, and emotions such as joy and anger. This illness originates from excessive labor leading to sweating, combined with irregular diet, and damage from cold food and cold drinks, resulting in the intermingling of internal and external cold pathogens. Its manifestations include slight fever, aversion to cold, chest and epigastric stuffiness, soreness and pain in the four limbs, headache, vomiting and rebellious qi, upward rushing of qi, abdominal fullness, dark red urine, and frequent diarrhea or dysentery. Treatment should first address the interior syndrome.
For treating Taiyang disease with food toxicity, when the disease is just acquired, the body does not have significant high fever, there is chest and epigastric stuffiness, lack of appetite, intermittent vomiting, rebellious qi striking the heart area, continuous diarrhea, and inability to digest water and grain. Use Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction):
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang), Chi Fuling (Red Poria with sclerotium, peeled black skin), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, removed black heart, each 3 fen), Helile (Terminalia chebula fruit, processed and pitted), Gaoliangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, chopped and fried), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, removed rough bark, processed with ginger juice and chopped), Chenjupi (Aged Tangerine Peel, removed white pith and fried), Gancao (Licorice Root, processed and chopped), Caodoukou (Cardamomi Fructus Rotundus, peeled), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed until cracked and peeled). The above twelve herbs are crushed to the size of hemp seeds. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water and three slices of fresh ginger until reduced to seven-tenths. Strain and take warm. Drink porridge broth afterwards to induce sweating.

The above seven herbs are crushed to the size of hemp seeds. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and one split jujube, until reduced to six-tenths. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach.
For treating Taiyang disease with food toxicity presenting with abdominal distension, urgent breathing, and obstruction of both urination and defecation. Use Xiaoming Tang (Mirabilitum Decoction):
Xiaoming (Mirabilitum), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, chopped and fried), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, each 1 liang), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, each 0.5 liang).
