论曰坠睛者，眼因贼风所吹，血脉受寒，贯冲瞳仁，风寒气随眼带牵拽，睛瞳向下，名
曰坠睛也，日久不治，瞳仁损陷，遂致失明。
治坠睛眼时发疼痛，视物散乱。犀角散方
犀角（镑） 羚羊角（镑各半两） 青羊胆（一枚） 槐实 五味子 青葙子 恶实 茺
蔚子
芦荟（研） 胡黄连 地骨皮（各三钱） 兔肝（炙干一具）
上一十二味。除胆外，捣研为散，以胆汁拌匀，每服二钱匕，食后煎槐子汤调下，临卧
再服，忌发热毒物。
治眼白睛肿胀，日夜疼痛，心胸多闷，洗肺利肝。羚羊角散方

上一十四味。捣筛为粗散，每服三钱匕，水一盏，煎至六分，去滓食后临卧温服。
治眼白睛肿起，赤涩疼痛。宜点朱砂煎方
朱砂（一分细研） 马牙硝（半两细研） 黄连末（半两） 杏仁（一分汤浸去皮尖） 青
盐（

上五味。研匀绵裹，用雪水三合，浸一宿，滤过入瓷合中，铜箸蘸少许点之。
治坠睛失明，眼睛牵陷。槐实丸方
槐实 羊角（镑） 独活（去芦头） 天麻 地肤子 沙参 人参（各一两半） 防

去叉） 甘菊花 枳壳（去瓤麸炒各一两） 决明子（二两）
上一十一味。捣罗为末，炼蜜和捣五百杵，丸如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，空心临卧、淡
浆水下。
治坠睛、视物失明。洗眼决明汤方
决明子 柴胡（去苗） 秦皮 防风（去叉） 蛇衔草（各一两） 生干地黄（二两）
上六味。锉令匀细，每用一两，以水三盏，煎取二盏，去滓再用绵滤过，每暖适温热
洗讫，避风即瘥。
治坠睛风毒所攻。点眼蕤仁煎方
蕤仁（去皮研二两） 黄连（去须锉） 地骨皮（取白者用） 曾青（研如粉各一两） 青
盐（
一分） 古钱（十文） 蜜（二盏）
上七味。以新绵裹六味，安新瓷瓶中，与蜜相和，煮一复时后，以重绵滤去滓令尽，根据
前安瓶子中，着露地两宿去毒，日点黍米大，日三五次。
论述说：所谓坠睛，是因为眼睛受到贼风侵袭，血脉受寒，寒气冲入瞳仁，风寒之气随着眼带牵拉牵引，导致眼球和瞳孔向下垂落，这就叫做坠睛。如果日久不治疗，瞳仁受损凹陷，最终会导致失明。
治疗坠睛引起的眼部时常发作疼痛、视物散乱不清。犀角散方：
犀角（镑片）半两，羚羊角（镑片）半两，青羊胆一个，槐实，五味子，青葙子，恶实，茺蔚子，芦荟（研细），胡黄连，地骨皮各三钱，兔肝（炙干）一具。
以上十二味药。除了胆汁以外，将其他药物捣碎研成散剂，用胆汁拌匀，每次服用二钱匕，饭后用槐子汤调服，临睡前再服一次，忌食发热及有毒的食物。
治疗眼白睛肿胀，日夜疼痛，心胸烦闷，具有洗肺利肝功效的羚羊角散方：
羚羊角屑一两，赤茯苓三两，木通三分，甜葶苈半两（隔纸炒至紫色），郁李仁一两（去皮），防风三分（去芦头），桑根白皮一两（锉碎），甘草半两（炙后锉碎），赤芍药三分，黄芩三分，枳壳三分（炒黄去瓤），汉防己一两，川大黄一两（锉碎），杏仁三分（汤浸去皮尖，炒黄）。
以上十四味药。捣筛成粗散，每次服用三钱匕，加水一盏，煎至六分，去渣，饭后及临睡前温服。
治疗眼白睛肿起，红涩疼痛。适宜使用朱砂煎点眼：
朱砂一分（细研），马牙硝半两（细研），黄连末半两，杏仁一分（汤浸去皮尖），青盐一分。
以上五味药。研磨均匀，用绵布包裹，取雪水三合，浸泡一夜，过滤后装入瓷盒中，用铜筷蘸取少许点眼。
治疗坠睛失明，眼睛牵拉凹陷。槐实丸方：
槐实，羊角（镑片），独活（去芦头），天麻，地肤子，沙参，人参各一两半，防风（去叉），甘菊花，枳壳（去瓤麸炒）各一两，决明子二两。
以上十一味药。捣罗成粉末，炼蜜调和并捣击五百下，制成如梧桐子大小的丸药，每次服用三十丸，空腹及临睡前用淡浆水送服。
治疗坠睛、视物失明。洗眼决明汤方：
决明子，柴胡（去苗），秦皮，防风（去叉），蛇衔草各一两，生干地黄二两。
以上六味药。锉碎均匀，每次取一两，加水三盏，煎取二盏，去渣再用绵布过滤，趁温热时清洗眼睛，避风即可痊愈。
治疗坠睛因风毒攻击所致。点眼蕤仁煎方：
蕤仁（去皮研）二两，黄连（去须锉碎），地骨皮（取白色部分），曾青（研如粉）各一两，青盐一分，古钱十文，蜜二盏。
以上七味药。用新绵包裹前六味药，放入新瓷瓶中，与蜜混合，煮一个时辰后，用厚绵滤去药渣，根据前述方法将药液放回瓶中，放置在露天地里两夜以去除毒性，每日点黍米大小药量，每日三到五次。
Discussion: The condition known as "Dropping Eye" (Zhui Jing) occurs when the eye is exposed to pathogenic wind, causing the blood vessels to suffer from cold. The cold qi penetrates and rushes into the pupil. The wind-cold qi follows the traction of the eye tendons, pulling the eyeball and pupil downward, which is termed "Dropping Eye." If left untreated for a long time, the pupil becomes damaged and sunken, eventually leading to blindness.
For treating Dropping Eye accompanied by intermittent eye pain and blurred or scattered vision, use Rhinoceros Horn Powder (Xijiao San):
Rhinoceros Horn (sliced) Banliang, Antelope Horn (sliced) Banliang, Green Goat Gallbladder One unit, Sophora Fruit (Huai Shi), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi), Celosia Seed (Qingxiangzi), Burdock Fruit (Eshi), Achyranthes Seed (Chongweizi), Aloe (ground), Picrorhiza Root (Huhuanglian), Ground Tree Bark (Digupi) each Sanqian, Rabbit Liver (roasted dry) one piece.
The above twelve ingredients. Except for the gallbladder, crush and grind the remaining herbs into powder. Mix evenly with the gallbladder juice. Take two Qianbi per dose. After meals, take with Sophora seed decoction. Take again before sleep. Avoid consuming hot-natured and toxic foods.
For treating swelling of the white part of the eye (Sclera), day and night pain, chest fullness, and for clearing the lungs and benefiting the liver, use Antelope Horn Powder (Lingyangjiao San):
Antelope Horn shavings Liang, Red Poria (Chifuling) Sanliang, Akebia Caulis (Mutong) Sanfen, Sweet Thistle Seed (Tinglizi) Banliang (stir-fried between papers until purple), Plum Kernel (Yuliren) Liang (peeled), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) Sanfen (remove radicle), Mulberry Root Bark (Sangbaipipi) Liang (chopped), Licorice Root (Gancao) Banliang (stir-fried and chopped), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao) Sanfen, Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) Sanfen, Bitter Orange (Zhiqiao) Sanfen (stir-fried until yellow, remove pulp), Stephania Root (Hanfangji) Liang, Rheum Palmatum (Chuan Dahuang) Liang (chopped), Apricot Seed (Xingren) Sanfen (soaked in water, peeled, removed tips, stir-fried until yellow).
The above fourteen ingredients. Crush and sieve into coarse powder. Take three Qianbi per dose. Add one Jian of water, boil down to six fen. Remove dregs. Take warm after meals and before sleep.
For treating swelling of the sclera, redness, dryness, and pain, it is suitable to apply Cinnabar Decoction (Zhusha Jian) for eye application:
Cinnarium (Zhusha) Yifen (finely ground), Natrii Sulfas (Mayaxiao) Banliang (finely ground), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) Banliang (powdered), Apricot Seed (Xingren) Yifen (soaked in water, peeled, removed tips), Green Salt (Qingyan) Yifen.
The above five ingredients. Grind uniformly, wrap in cotton cloth. Soak in three Ge of snow water overnight. Filter and put into a porcelain container. Dip a small amount with a chopstick to apply to the eyes.
For treating Dropping Eye with blindness and eye retraction/sunkenness, use Sophora Fruit Pill (Huai Shi Wan):
Sophora Fruit (Huai Shi), Sheep Horn (sliced), Angelica Pubescens Root (Duhuo) (remove radicle), Gastrodia Elata (Tianma), Kochia Scoparia Fruit ( Difuzi), Codonopsis Root (Shashen), Ginseng Root (Renshen) each Banliangsanqian, Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) (remove forked roots), Chrysanthemum Flower (Ganjuhua), Bitter Orange (Zhiqiao) (remove pulp, stir-bran fried) each Liang, Cassia Seed (Juemingzi) Erliang.
The above eleven ingredients. Pound and sift into fine powder. Mix with refined honey and pound five hundred times. Form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take thirty pills per dose. Take on an empty stomach and before sleep with light grain water.
For treating Dropping Eye and blindness in vision, use Cassia Seed Eye-Washing Decoction (Jue Ming Zi Xi Yan Tang):
Cassia Seed (Juemingzi), Bupleurum Root (Chaihu) (remove sprouts), Fraxinus Cortex (Qinpi), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) (remove forked roots), Dracocephalum Herba (She Xian Cao) each Liang, Raw Dry Rehmannia Root (Sheng Gan Dihuang) Erliang.
The above six ingredients. Chop finely and mix evenly. Take one Liang per use. Add three Zhan of water, boil to obtain two Zhan. Remove dregs and filter through cotton cloth again. Wash the eyes while warm. Avoid wind, and the condition will heal.
For treating Drooping Eye attacked by wind-toxin, use Prunus Persica Kernel Decoction (Rui Ren Jian) for eye application:
Prunus Persica Kernel (Rui Ren) (peeled and ground) Erliang, Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) (remove whiskers, chopped), Ground Tree Bark (Digupi) (use the white inner part), Azurite (Zengqing) (ground to powder) each Liang, Green Salt (Qingyan) Yifen, Ancient Coins Shiwén, Honey Erzhan.
The above seven ingredients. Wrap the first six ingredients in new cotton cloth. Place in a new porcelain bottle. Mix with honey. Boil for one Shichen (two hours). Filter thoroughly through thick cotton cloth to remove all dregs. Return the liquid to the bottle according to the previous method. Leave in an open area exposed to dew for two nights to remove toxicity. Apply an amount the size of a millet seed daily, three to five times a day.
