Discourse states: When a child suddenly experiences stabbing pain in the heart and abdomen without apparent cause, accompanied by severe distress and near-fainting, this is termed Zhong E (Sudden Collapse due to Evil Qi). This condition arises from the disharmony of Yin and Yang, Qi, and Blood in the child, coupled with a weak Shen (Spirit) that fails to guard firmly, thereby allowing Gui Du (Ghost Toxins) and evil Qi to invade. If the abdomen is distended and full, and the pulse is tight, large, and floating, the prognosis is poor (fatal); if the pulse is tight, fine, and faint, the prognosis is good (survival). If residual pathogenic factors linger for a long time and recur, it may transform into Zhu Bing (Clinging Disease/Chronic Infectious Disease).
