Discourse states: There are three corpses (San Shi, parasitic entities in the body) in humans that can cause harm to people. Regardless of age, those with weak spirit and insufficient Qi and Blood are mostly susceptible. Children's Qi and Blood are not yet fully developed, and their spirit is not complete. Therefore, they are prone to suffering from Shizhu disease (Corpse Transmission Disease). The symptoms include a dull and silent demeanor, inability to pinpoint the exact location of the pain, alternating chills and fever, prolonging over years, eventually leading to death. After death, the pathogenic influence may transfer to others, hence the name Shizhu.
To treat pediatric Shizhu disease and various conditions such as Zhong'e (Sudden Evil Invasion): Xijiao San Formula [Rhinoceros Horn Powder]

The above eight herbs are pounded and ground into powder. Each dose is half a qianbi (a small measuring spoon), taken with warm water, four to five times daily. Dosage should be adjusted according to the child's age and size.
To treat pediatric Shizhu with unbearable distension and pain in the heart and abdomen: Muxiang Tang Formula [Aucklandia Decoction]

The above six herbs are individually ground and sifted into powder. First, soak Dansha and the other five herbs in strong vinegar. Soak Zengqing separately in good wine using a copper vessel. Seal tightly with paper and expose to sunlight throughout the summer; if urgent, wait five days. If no sun, use fire to warm it. The duration for the other five herbs is the same. Grind each into powder, mix with strong vinegar to achieve appropriate moisture, place in an earthen crucible, seal with Liuyi Ni (Six-One Mud), ensuring tightness. Once dry, install an iron ring stand one chi five cun high, and place the crucible on the ring. Initially, place two pieces of熟炭 (charcoal) each four cun long under the crucible. When two-thirds are consumed, add two more pieces of熟炭. Repeat this three times. Then switch to生炭 (raw charcoal), increasing gradually until one shi (two hours) has passed, with fire close to the bottom of the crucible. Change the charcoal under the crucible twice, then let the fire burn out completely and cool down. Remove the contents; the refined medicine will fly up and condense on the crucible walls. The brightest and whitest like snow is best. If not much flies up, repeat the heating process and collect with a rooster's wing. The amount varies. Mix with jujube flesh to form pills the size of millet seeds. Take one pill on an empty stomach at dawn. Wear it in a crimson pouch: men on the left, women on the right; tie it to a child's head to ward off Zhangdu (miasma), evil qi, and Shegong (arrow workers). For sick children, mix with vinegar, apply to a square-inch paper, and paste on the child's chest or abdomen. Even for those already dead, if administered within two days in winter or one day in summer, life can be restored if stool passes. If the patient feels confused after taking the medicine, drink Fangji Tang (Stephania Decoction) to calm them.
