Commentary states: The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) records that when there is fullness under the hypochondrium and rebellious Qi, persisting for two or three years without resolution, the disease is named Xi Ji (Accumulation of Breath). "Xiao" (decrease) and "Xi" (increase) refer to the alternating processes of Yin and Yang. Currently, Qi gathers under the hypochondrium, remaining stagnant without dissipating, accumulating without dispersing; thus, it causes fullness and rebellion, leading to pathology. However, since the pathogenic Qi resides externally and does not affect the Stomach, digestion is not impaired, but rather the flow of breath is hindered. The treatment method should not involve moxibustion or acupuncture; instead, Daoyin (qigong exercises) combined with herbal medicine is appropriate. This is because herbs alone cannot cure the condition independently; Daoyin can move the accumulated Qi, and the efficacy of the medicine also relies on the movement facilitated by Daoyin.
