Commentary states: The Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian (Zu Taiyin Pi Jing) is exterior-interiorly related to the Stomach Meridian (Wei Jing). Its element is Earth, its spirit is Yi (Intent) and Zhi (Will), its manifestation is in the muscles, its sound is singing (soothing tunes), its fluid is saliva (Xian), its odor is fragrant, its color is yellow. It governs during the late summer season, and寄旺 (lingers prosperously) during the last month of each season (Ji Yue). It scatters the qi and moisture of all things, benefits the zang-fu organs, and achieves equilibrium transformation. It is also called the "Central Region" (Zhong Zhou).
