治疗气虚引起的燥渴、引饮的黄耆汤方：
黄耆（细切）一两，栝蒌根（切碎）一两，麦门冬（去心、焙干）一两，赤茯苓（去掉黑皮）一两，人参一两，甘草一两，黄连（去掉须）一两，知母（切碎、焙干）一两，生干地黄（焙干）一两，菟丝子（酒浸一夜后焙干）一两，肉苁蓉（酒浸一夜，去掉皱皮、切碎、焙干）一两。
以上十二味药，捣碎并筛成粗末。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至七分满，滤去药渣，温服，不限时间。
治疗虚渴饮水过多，导致身体浮肿胀满的人参汤方：
人参二两，黄耆（细切）二两，旋复花一两，桑根白皮（切碎）一两，紫苏叶半两，犀角（镑成屑）半两。
以上十味药，捣碎并筛成粗末。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏半，煎至一盏，滤去药渣，温服，不限时间。
治疗脏虚干燥，引发口渴饮水的麦门冬丸方：
麦门冬（去心、焙干）一两半，菟丝子（酒浸一夜、焙干）一两半，土瓜根一两半，山茱萸一两半，鹿茸（去毛，用酥炙）一两半，神曲（去掉木屑）一两半，人参一两半。
以上十二味药，捣碎过筛成为细末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，温水送下，不限时间服用。
治疗虚渴饮水不止，导致心腹胀满的木香汤方：
木香半两，枳壳（去瓤、麸炒）半两，芍药半两，槟榔（生切）半两，桑根白皮（切碎、炒）一两，黄耆（细切）一两，草豆蔻（去皮）一两，枇杷叶（擦去毛、炙烤）一两，黄连（去须）一两，桂枝（去粗皮）三分，人参一两半。
以上十一味药，捣碎并筛成粗末。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至七分满，滤去药渣，温服，不限时间。
治疗虚燥渴不止的黄耆丸方：
黄耆（细切）二两，五味子二两，乌梅（取肉、炒）一两，麦门冬（去心、焙干）一两，干姜（炮制）半两，地黄（焙干）半两，泽泻半两。
以上十味药，捣碎过筛成为细末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，浆水送下，不限时间服用。
治疗虚渴饮水无节制的人参汤方：
人参二两，五味子三分，大腹皮三分，赤茯苓（去黑皮）一两半，桑根白皮（切碎、炒）一两半，黄耆（细切）一两半，芍药一两，黄芩（去黑心）一两，葛根（切碎）一两，枳壳（去瓤、麸炒）三分。
以上十味药，捣碎并筛成粗末。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至七分满，滤去药渣，温服，不限时间。
治疗脏虚舌本干燥，口渴饮水不止的地黄丸方：
熟干地黄（切碎、焙干）一两，山茱萸一两，山芋一两，泽泻一两，牡丹皮一两，白茯苓（去黑皮）一两，附子（炮裂、去皮、去脐）一两，桂枝（去粗皮）一分。
以上八味药，捣碎过筛成为细末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，温水送下，不限时间服用。
治疗虚渴不止的薏苡仁汤方：
薏苡仁一两半，五味子一两半，覆盆子二两，生干地黄（切碎、焙干）二两，枸杞子二两，紫苏茎叶一两，黄耆（细切）一两，木通一两，白茯苓（去黑皮）三两。
以上九味药，捣碎并筛成粗末。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至七分满，滤去药渣，温服，不限时间。
治疗虚渴烦躁不利的小便短赤的鹿茸丸方：
鹿茸（去毛，用酥炙）一两，黄耆（细切）一两，人参一两，土瓜根一两，山茱萸一两，杜仲（去粗皮、切碎、炒）一两，桑螵蛸（炙烤）一两，栝蒌根一两，菟丝子（酒浸一夜、另捣）一两一分，肉苁蓉（酒浸一夜、去皱皮）一两一分，鸡肶胫内膜（即鸡内金，十枚、炙干）。
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成为细末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，酒送下，不限时间服用，用温水送服也可以。
Discourse states: When a person suffers from fatigue damaging the zang-fu organs, or has not yet recovered after a severe illness, the Ying (Nutritive) blood becomes insufficient. Yin deficiency within leads to internal heat. Heat causes body fluids to dry up and decrease, resulting in thirst and a desire to drink. However, fluid intake cannot be excessive; if too much is consumed, abdominal fullness and indigestion occur because Qi deficiency fails to transport and transform water.
Treatment for kidney qi insufficiency causing internal dryness and thirst: Shenli Decoction (Kidney Drip Decoction).
Raw Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Washed, cut, dried) 1 liang, Alismae Rhizoma 1 liang, Polygalae Radix (Heart removed) 1 liang, Cinnamomi Ramulus (Bark removed) 1 liang, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Cut, dried) 1 liang, Os Draconis 1 liang, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Roasted, cut) 1 liang.
The above thirteen ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. For each dose, take one sheep kidney, remove fascia, and slice. Boil the kidney in 1.5 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Remove the kidney, add 3 qianbi of the coarse powder, and decoct until 0.7 parts remain. Strain and take warm, at any time.
Treatment for Qi deficiency causing dry thirst and excessive drinking: Huangqi Decoction.

The above twelve ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Take 3 qianbi per dose, decoct in 1 sheng of water until 0.7 parts remain. Strain and take warm, at any time.
Treatment for deficiency-thirst with excessive drinking leading to bodily edema and fullness: Renshen Decoction.
Ginseng Radix 2 liang, Astragali Radix (Finely cut) 2 liang, Inulae Flos 1 liang, Morus Albae Cortex Radicis (Cut) 1 liang, Perillae Folium 0.5 liang, Rhinocerotis Cornu (Shaved into flakes) 0.5 liang.
The above ten ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. Take 3 qianbi per dose, decoct in 1.5 sheng of water until 1 sheng remains. Strain and take warm, at any time.
Treatment for organ deficiency dryness causing thirst: Maidong Pill.
Ophiopogonis Radix (Heart removed, dried) 1.5 liang, Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (Soaked in wine overnight, dried) 1.5 liang, Trichosanthes Kirilowii Root (Tugua Gen) 1.5 liang, Corni Fructus 1.5 liang, Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum (Hair removed, roasted with butter) 1.5 liang, Massae Fermentatae Medicinales (Wood removed) 1.5 liang, Ginseng Radix 1.5 liang.
The above twelve ingredients are pounded into fine powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with warm water, at any time.
Treatment for deficiency-thirst with incessant drinking causing epigastric and abdominal fullness: Muxiang Decoction.
