Discourse states: The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian circulates through the Jiache point (ST6). The Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian circulates along the neck and ascends to the cheek. If these two meridians are simultaneously affected by Wind-Cold pathogens, it leads to tendon tension pulling on the cheek, causing deviation of the mouth and eyes (facial paralysis). This manifests as slurred speech and an inability to gaze straight ahead. It is also said that when Wind pathogen enters the ear, it can also cause deviation of the mouth and eyes. This is likely due to the interconnection of the meridians. Upon pulse diagnosis, if the pulse is floating and slow, the condition is treatable.
