论述说：风癫的症状是，发作没有固定的时间。每次发作时就会跌倒在地，吐出涎沫，神志不清，毫无知觉。这大概是因为气血都虚弱，精神离散，魂魄与风邪相搏，导致风邪转化为癫痫，时时发作，人事不知。定心神牛黄丸方
牛黄（单独研磨）、真珠末（单独研磨）、琥珀（单独捣碎过筛）、铁粉（单独研磨）、天竺黄（单独研磨）、龙齿（单独研磨）、银薄（与龙齿同研）、犀角、升麻、防风（去芦头）、白芍药、茯神（去木心）、天门冬（去心焙干，各一两）、干蝎（酒炒，一……）
以上二十七味药，除了需要单独研磨的石药及麝香等十一味药外，其余药物捣碎过筛，再与研磨好的药粉混合均匀。用炼蜜拌和调和得当，再捣千余杵，制成梧桐子大小的丸药。夜间睡觉前及饭后，煎新竹叶汤，送服十五丸至二十丸。
天门冬（洗净浸泡两天，去心，细切，七斤）、生地黄（三十斤，选肥厚的淘洗干净，细切）
以上两味药，细切后，全部放入木臼中捣烂。然后放入大沙盆内，反复研磨压榨取汁，绞出渣滓并晾干，另外收存。将渣滓再次研磨至极烂，加入一斗水，研磨搅拌使其均匀。再次压榨渣滓至干，又研磨至极细，加入八升水压榨渣滓。再研磨，加入六升水，压榨直至渣滓完全干燥且无味为止。取第二次和第三次研磨所得的汁液，一同煎煮至一斗。接着加入第一次得到的药汁，继续煎煮成膏状。如果变得像饴糖一样稠厚就停止。每……
丹砂（细研，水飞滤过后焙干，再研磨如粉，三两）、石膏（五两，研细）、黄连（去须，捣碎过筛，一斤）、生地黄（不限斤两，研磨取自然汁二升，不得加水）
以上四味药，用清水一斗，先煮石膏和黄连，取五升净汁，去掉渣滓。接着下入生地黄汁，再次煎煮。等到变得像饴糖一样稠厚，才撤去火源。取丹砂粉投入，均匀搅拌一百多遍。贮存在不漏水的容器中，继续搅拌，待冷却后就停止操作。每天两次，用温水调服。
治疗风癫，刚得病的，服药三天痊愈；隔日发作的，十天痊愈；五日发作一次的，二十天痊愈；半年发作一次的，服药一个月痊愈。莨菪丸方
以上一味药，用新汲水淘洗三十遍，浮起的尽数去掉。生研如膏状，加入一升酒同研，绞取酒液。又研磨如膏状，再加入一升酒研磨，绞取酒液。又照前法研磨绞取酒液，共计得到三升酒液，再过滤一遍。放入无油的干净铁器中，煎煮成膏状。再将莨菪渣，炒至焦黄干燥，捣碎过筛为末。等到药膏煎成，就渐渐少量加入药末，和匀使药膏可以制丸。制成梧桐子大小的丸药。空腹、午时、夜间睡觉前，各用温酒送服十丸。如果没有见效，加至十五丸。额头和手中出现红色纹路，就是见效的标志。此时应减少药量服用。
治疗五种癫病各有叫声。牛癫像牛叫，马癫像马叫，狗癫像狗叫，羊癫像羊叫，鸡癫像鸡叫。凡此五种癫病，都适宜服用。雄黄丸方
雄黄、丹砂、雌黄（这三味各二两，打碎一起使用，装入生绢夹袋中，放入十两蜂蜜内，隔水加热煮，待蜂蜜变成赤色，滴下来像珠子拉丝一样，若大火化……内候冷……）
以上五味药，各自按前述方法修治完毕后，就用之前煮丹砂、雄黄、雌黄剩下的蜂蜜，再次隔水加热煮散，一点点点入药中，渐渐和匀制成丸药，如大麻粒大小。每次用桃、柳、柏、桑树的嫩枝，各长七寸，寸寸切碎，用水一升，煎至六合，去掉渣滓。分次温服丸药。空腹、午时、临睡前，服三丸至五丸。小儿服一丸至二丸。
麦门冬（去心焙干，一两）、虎睛（一对，微炙）、龙齿（研，一两）、金箔（研，一百片）、银箔（研……）、人参（锉，各一两）、玄参（生用）、薤白（细切焙干）、牛黄……
以上十九味药，除了虎睛和另外需要单独研磨的六味药外，其余捣碎过筛，再与研磨好的药粉一同过筛为末。用炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大小。每次服二十丸，煎地骨皮汤送服。白天三次，夜间一次，不拘泥于固定时间。

以上两味药，取出金，只留丹砂。除去火毒后，研磨取粉，用干粟米饭，烂研拌和得当，制成绿豆大小的丸药。每次食后金银汤送服五丸，半夜再服一次。用桃柳汤也可以。那个合子用金制的为佳。

以上两味药，和研均匀。炼蜜丸如绿豆大小。每次服三丸至五丸，酒送服，白天三次，夜间一次。

以上一味药，用水二升，煎至七合，去掉渣滓，温饮之。

For treating wind-dian disease, where attacks occur intermittently with periods of lucidity, lasting for years. Formula for Cinnabar Paste:
Dansha (Cinnabaris, finely ground, water-floating, filtered, dried, and ground to powder, 3 liang), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 5 liang, finely ground), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis, remove threads, pounded and sifted, 1 jin), Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Recens, amount not specified, grind to obtain natural juice 2 sheng, do not add water).

The above thirteen ingredients: First, pound ten of them into powder, mix with the separately ground ingredients until uniform. Form pills with refined honey, size of Sophora japonica seeds. After meals, administer ten pills with decoction of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens) and Zhike (Fructus Aurantii), increasing to fifteen pills if necessary.
For treating epilepsy with madness and confusion, vague spirit, limb convulsions, foaming, and tongue biting. Formula for Longdan Pills:
Longdan (Radix Gentianae, earth removed), Gouteng (Ramulus Uncariae cum Uncis), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Xijiao (Cornu Rhinocerotis, shaved), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae, black heart removed), Xuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae), Bai Fuling (Poria, black skin removed), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, fork removed), Qinjiao (Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae, seedlings and earth removed), Digupi (Cortex Lycii, sliced), Damaren (Semen Cannabis, ground into paste and pounded together), Binglang (Fructus Arecae, sliced), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis, remove threads and stir-fried), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei...), Mendong (Radix Ophiopogonis, heart removed and dried), Longchi (Dens Draconis et Ossis Mastodi, ground separately...), Wu... The above fifteen ingredients: First, pound ten of them into powder, mix with separately ground ingredients until uniform. Form pills with refined honey, size of mung beans. Administer twenty pills with decoction of peach and willow branches, twice during the day and once at night. Alternatively, administer with decoction of Renshen and Fuling.
For treating wind-dian, evil epilepsy, etc. Formula for Jinsha Pills:
Jin (Gold, 5 liang, finely cut into flakes to serve as the container), Dansha (Cinnabaris, 3 liang. Place gold flakes in a Dingzhou fine porcelain jar, make a depression, place Dansha within the gold flakes... wrap with cloth...).
The above two ingredients: Remove the gold, keep the Dansha. Remove fire toxicity, grind to powder, mix with dry millet rice porridge until well combined, form pills the size of mung beans. Take five pills after meals with gold and silver water, and one dose at midnight. Peach and willow water is also acceptable. Using a gold-made jar is preferable.
For treating wind-dian with spasms and unsettled soul and spirit. Formula for Fushen Pills:

The above seventeen ingredients: First, pound thirteen of them into powder, mix with the four separately ground ingredients until uniform. Form pills with refined honey, size of Sophora japonica seeds. On an empty stomach daily and before noon meal, take fifteen pills with honey water, gradually increasing to twenty pills.
For treating wind-dian with spasms. Formula for Feichi Tou Pills:
Feichi Tou (Head of Owl, three pieces, remove feathers and beak, roast until scorched, pound into powder), Qiandan (Minium, 8 liang, ground).
The above two ingredients: Mix and grind uniformly. Form pills with refined honey, size of mung beans. Take three to five pills per dose, administered with wine, three times during the day and once at night.
For treating wind-dian with loss of mind and desire to die, and managing the five types of jing (startle) and various epilepsies. Formula for Xionghuang Pills:
Xionghuang (Realgar, ground separately), Cihuang (Orpiment, ground separately), Zhenzhu Mo (Pulvis Margaritae, ground separately, 1 liang each), Qiandan (Minium, vinegar-fried), Shuiyin (Hydrargyrum, 2 liang each, first steamed...).
The above six ingredients: Grind five ingredients into powder, mix, and grind with date paste until no mercury stars are visible. Add prickly dates to the mortar and pound a thousand times. Form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take two to three pills per dose, administered with decoction of Renshen and Fuling, twice during the day and once at night, after meals.

Chenbai Pu (Old decaying cattail, three years old, 1 liang, finely cut).
The above single ingredient: Boil in two sheng of water until reduced to seven六合, discard dregs, and drink warm.
