The preparation of medicine should be done on an auspicious day and hour according to the Wang-Xiang calendar system; it is best if performed by a fasting boy. The weather should be clear without clouds or fog, conducted during daylight hours. Once prepared, seal the medicine tightly in a vessel to prevent leakage of qi, and store it in a clean place. If ineffective, drink warm millet gruel to promote the effect and induce evacuation. If diarrhea persists, drink cold water to stop it.
