(Two chapters on pulse diagnosis, thirteen prescriptions, three moxibustion methods)
The Cun (inch) pulse is tight and the Chi (cubit) pulse is choppy. The patient experiences chest fullness, inability to eat, and vomiting. If the vomiting stops, it is due to previous purgation, resulting in an inability to eat. If the vomiting does not stop, this is called "Wei Fan" (Gastric Reversal), hence the Chi pulse appears slightly choppy.
The Fuyang pulse is floating and choppy. Floating indicates deficiency; choppy indicates injury to the Spleen. When the Spleen is injured, it fails to grind food. Food eaten in the morning is vomited in the evening, and food eaten in the evening is vomited in the morning. Undigested food remains, a condition named "Wei Fan" (Gastric Reversal). If the Fuyang pulse is both tight and choppy, the disease is difficult to treat.
