(One general discussion, forty-nine prescriptions, one syndrome description, fifteen moxibustion methods)
The general discussion states: When heat pathogen accumulates in the middle jiao (middle burner), it forms hard masses; when it accumulates in the lower jiao (lower burner), it leads to hematuria (blood in urine), causing strangury (lin syndrome) and retention of urine (bi syndrome), resulting in obstructed urination. This is mostly caused by deficiency and damage in individuals who have taken strong dispersing herbs, leading to guest heat in the lower jiao. There are also cases where there is naturally heat in the lower jiao; such people have had it since childhood and can be managed with careful observation and nourishment.
For Qi-strangury (Qi Lin), the disease manifests as difficult and astringent urination, often with residual dripping; for Stone-strangury (Shi Lin), the disease manifests as pain in the urethra and inability to void urine suddenly; for Paste-strangury (Gao Lin), the disease manifests as urine flowing out resembling paste; for Labor-strangury (Lao Lin), the disease manifests as onset of pain triggered by fatigue or overexertion, with qi rushing downward; for Heat-strangury (Re Lin), the disease manifests as onset triggered by heat exposure, and in severe cases, hematuria. The treatment for these stranguries is the same as that for Qi-strangury. In general, if a person's nose tip appears yellow, it indicates difficulty in urination.
Prescription for treating heat accumulation in the lower jiao, red and yellow turbid urine with difficult flow, frequent but scanty voiding, penile pain or bleeding, residual heat after warm diseases, wind-heat contraction after cholera-like disorders, excessive alcohol consumption and sexual indulgence, walking in heat while drinking cold beverages to dispel heat, leading to heat knotting in the lower jiao and moving stones causing Guan-Ge (obstruction with vomiting), hardness of the lower abdomen, bladder distension like a bowl. For all the above stranguries, this prescription provides immediate verification.
