以上七味药材捣碎过筛，取一刀圭大小的药量，饭前用酒送服，每日三次，十日后轻微下血，注意调养即可。
To treat prolonged cold causing irregular menstruation, with varying amounts of flow:
Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu) [3 sheng], Tabanidae Insect (Machong), Leech (Shuizhi), Ground Beetle (Chong), Paeoniae Moutan Cortex (Mudanpi) [each 1 liang], Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang) [1 jin], Triticum Semen (Xiaomai), Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia) [each 1 sheng],
Paeoniae Radix Alba (Shaoyao)
[1.5 liang],
Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Shaoyao)
[2 liang].
The above fifteen ingredients are coarsely crushed. Boil in one dou of wine and two dou of water until one dou remains. Strain the dregs. Take one sheng at a suitable temperature, three times a day.
Those who do not drink alcohol may substitute water. Add the insect ingredients only when the decoction is nearly finished. For those intolerant to strong medication, take seven ge.
To treat irregular menstruation, abdominal fullness that occasionally subsides spontaneously, and urinary bladder fullness/urgency in men:
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata (Huzhang, referred to as Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root in *Qianjin Yifang*) [2 liang], Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) [2 liang], Persicae Semen (Taoren) [30 seeds], Leech (Shuizhi) [20 pieces].
The above four ingredients are boiled in three sheng of water until one sheng remains. Take all at once. The treatment is considered effective when menstrual clots/blood stasis are discharged.
To treat irregular menstruation accompanied by vexing heat in hands and feet, abdominal fullness with taciturnity and insomnia, and mental restlessness:
Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) [1.5 liang], Peucedani Radix (Qianhu, alternatively Chaihu), Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao, roasted) [each 5 liang], Lepidii Semium (Tinglizi), Zanthoxyli Fructus (Chuanjiao) (both roasted) [each 6 zhu], Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Poria (Fuling) [each 15 zhu], Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, roasted) [9 zhu], Persicae Semen (Taoren, roasted) [20 seeds], Tabanidae Insect (Machong, roasted), Leech (Shuizhi, roasted) [each half he].
The above twelve ingredients are powdered and formed into pills the size of wutong seeds using honey. Take seven pills on an empty stomach with warm water, three times a day. If ineffective, double the dose. (Another version includes Geckus and Mudanpi...)
To treat menstrual pain encircling the umbilicus, qi rushing up to the chest and heart, alternating chills and fever, resembling malaria or zhū disease:
Persicae Semen (Taoren) [50 seeds], Ground Beetle (Chong) [20 pieces], Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin) [5 cun], Poria (Fuling) [1 liang], Coicis Semen (Yiyiren), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi), Haematites (Daizhe) [each 2 liang], Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) [8 liang].
The above eight ingredients are processed and sifted. Fast overnight. Take one qianbi-sized dose with warm wine, three times a day.
To treat abdominal swelling and lumbar/abdominal pain during menstrual cycles:
Ground Beetle (Chong) [4 pieces], Zanthoxyli Fructus (Chuanjiao), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang) [each 6 zhu], Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Polygalae Radix (Nüqing), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) [each half liang].
The above seven ingredients are processed and sifted. Take one dao gui-sized dose before meals with wine, three times a day. After ten days, slight bleeding will occur; maintain proper care and nourishment.
