Treats conditions such as zheng jian (hard masses), edema, fei shi (flying corpse disease), dun shi (lurking corpse disease), bai zhu (hundred injections), shi zhu (corpse injection), gu xue xiang zhu (bone and blood mutual injection). It addresses evil qi and ghostly interference, gu poison, the coming and going of pathogenic factors, dreams and waking states involving life and death, retained fluid accumulation, bites from tigers, wild wolves, or dogs, and venomous bird poison entering the five zang organs. After taking medicine to eliminate the poison, if food digestion remains impaired, or in cases of women suffering from evil ghost interference, this formula can also dispel them.
Lixi (Gecko) (2 pieces), Wugong (Centipede) (2 pieces), Ditan (Blister Beetle) (50 pieces), Chong (Beetle larva) (30 pieces), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (30 pieces), Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (14 pieces), Mengchong (Horsefly Larva) (30 pieces), Puxiao (Mirabilite) (1 liang 18 zhu), Zeqi (Euphorbia humifusa), Taonuo (Peach Twig), Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn), Guidu You (Aristolochia debilis), Sangchi Ji (Silkworm excrement on mulberry tree) (each 18 zhu); Shaoyao (Peony Root), Hugu (Tiger Bone) (each 1.5 liang); Gancao (Licorice Root) (1 liang); Badou (Croton Seed) (1 liang 18 zhu); Kuandonghua (Coltsfoot Flower) (18 zhu); Gansui (Kansui Root) (1 liang 6 zhu); Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger) (1 liang).
The above twenty ingredients are ground into powder. separately process Badou and Xingren into a paste, mix with the powdered herbs, add honey, and pound for twenty thousand strokes to form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take three pills before meals with warm water, once daily; if ineffective, increase the dose. For those who cannot tolerate purgation, take one pill once daily. This has cured individuals with wind-cold injection and hard masses persisting for twenty years. (This formula corresponds to the seventeenth [chapter/section]...)
Treats hard masses and nodules located in the chest and hypochondrium, or in the heart and abdomen.
Yelangdu (Stemona Root), Gan Dihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root) (each 4 liang); Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root), Rongrong (Cistanche Stem), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root) (each 1 liang); Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) (2 liang); Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger); Pufangji (Stephania Tetrandra), Xuanshu Hua (Inula Flower) (each 0.5 liang); Badou (Croton Seed) (24 pieces), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (30 pieces).
The above twenty-one ingredients are ground into powder, mixed with honey. Take two pills the size of Chinese parasol tree seeds twice during the day and once at night, adjusting until therapeutic effect is achieved.
For treating diseases identical to the previous formula:
Yelangdu (Stemona Root) (3 liang), Xuanshu Hua (Inula Flower) (2 liang); Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), Banxia (Pinellia Tuber), Baifu Zi (Aconitum Bulb), Ru (Bupleurum Root? Note: Text says 'Ru', likely typo for 'Ru' or specific herb, kept as Ru) (each 2 liang).
The above six ingredients are ground into powder, mixed with honey, and pounded for five thousand strokes. Take three pills the size of Chinese parasol tree seeds with water, increasing up to ten pills, three times daily. (The *Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang* lacks Banxia, Baifu Zi, and Ru, containing only three ingredients).
