病源足少阴肾之经，宗脉之所聚，其气通于耳，劳伤于肾，宗脉虚损，血气不足，为风
邪所乘。故成耳聋，劳伤甚者血气虚极，风邪停滞。故为久聋。（出第二十九卷中）

上三味捣末，取鸡子开一孔，取黄和药，却纳鸡子中，封合其头，还令鸡覆之，药成，
以绵裹塞所聋耳中，取瘥为度。
足少阴肾经是众多经脉汇聚之处，其经气通达于耳。若因劳累损伤肾脏，导致宗脉虚损，气血不足，易被风邪侵袭，从而形成耳聋。若劳伤严重，致使气血极度虚弱，风邪停滞体内，就会造成久聋。（出自第二十九卷中）
《广济方》治疗患风聋三十年、完全听不见的方剂：
蓖麻子（五分） 杏仁（四分，炒制） 桃仁（四分，去皮后炒制） 巴豆（一枚，去皮后炒制） 石盐（三分）
附子（一分，炮制） 薰陆香（一分） 磁石（四分，研碎） 菖蒲（四分） 腊脂（八分） 通草（二分） 松脂（二两半）
以上十二味药，先将菖蒲、石盐、磁石、通草、附子、薰陆香捣成粉末，另外将蓖麻子等四味药捣碎，然后加入松脂和腊脂，共同捣击一千下。
《肘后备急方》治疗二三十年耳聋的方剂：
取旧铁三十斤，用七斗水浸泡三个夜晚，取该水来发酵七斗米，使用酒曲按常规方法酿酒，酒酿熟后，可得到一斗酒。取此酒……
另一个方子：
茱萸 巴豆（去皮后炒制） 干姜（各等分）
以上三味药捣成粉末，用葱汁调和，用棉絮包裹后塞入耳中，片刻后取出干燥物，再次调和并塞入，如此连续五天，应当感觉病痛消除不再痛苦，八九天后便能听到人说话，以痊愈为停止标准，平时常用头发塞住耳朵。注意避免受风。
又一个方子：
柘根三十斤切碎，用水煮，用来酿酒，按常规方法饮用，长期服用效果很好。
《古今录验方》治疗三十年耳聋的方剂：
天雄（一分） 鸡蛋（一枚） 附子（一枚）
以上三味药捣成粉末，取鸡蛋打开一个小孔，将蛋黄与药粉混合，再放回鸡蛋壳内，封好开口，让鸡重新孵化它。药制成后，用棉絮包裹塞入患聋的耳中，以痊愈为度。
The Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian (Zu Shao Yin Shen Jing) is the convergence point of numerous vessels, and its Qi communicates with the ear. If the Kidneys are injured by overstrain, leading to deficiency and damage of the Zong Mai (Major Vessels), and insufficiency of Blood and Qi, one becomes susceptible to invasion by Wind Pathogens (Feng Xie). Thus, deafness develops. If the strain is severe, causing extreme deficiency of Blood and Qi, and stagnation of Wind Pathogens, chronic deafness results. (Excerpted from Volume 29)
Guangji Fang (Broad Relief Formulas) treats wind-deafness lasting thirty years where hearing is completely lost:
Ricini Semen (Bimazi, Castor Bean Seed) (5 fen)
Pruni Semen Armeniacae Amarum (Xingren, Bitter Apricot Seed) (4 fen, stir-fried)
Persicae Semen (Taoren, Peach Kernel) (4 fen, skin removed, stir-fried)
Crotonis Fructus (Badou, Croton Seed) (1 piece, skin removed, stir-fried)
Lapis Salis (Shiyan, Rock Salt) (3 fen)
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, Prepared Lateral Root of Chinese Aconite) (1 fen, processed)
Incense Frankincense (Xunluxiang, Olibanum) (1 fen)
Magnetitum (Cishi, Magnetite) (4 fen, ground)
Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu, Tatarian Sweetflag Rhizome) (4 fen)
Animal Fat (La, rendered fat) (8 fen)
Tetrapanacis Medulla (Tongcao, Pith of Tetrapanax) (2 fen)
Pini Resina (Songzhi, Pine Resin) (2 liang 5 qian)
The above twelve ingredients: First, grind Changpu, Shiyan, Cishi, Tongcao, Fuzi, and Xunluxiang into powder. Separately, crush the four ingredients including Bimazi. Then add Songzhi and La, and pound together for one thousand strokes.
Zhouhou Beiji Fang (Emergency Prescriptions Kept Up My Sleeve) treats deafness lasting twenty or thirty years:
Take thirty jin of old iron, soak it in seven dou of water for three nights. Use this water to ferment seven dou of rice. Add yeast according to standard methods. When the wine is ready, extract one dou of wine. Take this wine...
Another formula:
Euonymi Fructus (Zhuyu, Euonymus Fruit)
Crotonis Fructus (Badou, Croton Seed) (skin removed, stir-fried)
Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Ganjiang, Dried Ginger) (equal parts each)
Grind the above three ingredients into powder. Mix with juice from green onions. Wrap in cotton and insert into the ear. After a short while, remove the dried material. Re-mix and re-insert. Do this for five days; the illness should feel resolved and painless. By the eighth or ninth day, hearing of human speech should return. Continue until cured. Usually, plug the ears with hair. Avoid exposure to wind.
Yet another formula:
Roots of Torreya (Zhegen, Torreya Root) (30 jin), chopped. Boil in water and brew into wine as per standard method. Consume over a long period. Highly effective.
Gujin Lu Yan Fang (Recorded Experiences of Past and Present) treats deafness lasting thirty years:
Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix (Tianxiong, Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii) (1 fen)
Ovi Galliformis Ovum (Jizi, Chicken Egg) (1 piece)
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, Prepared Lateral Root of Chinese Aconite) (1 piece)
Grind the above three ingredients into powder. Make a small hole in the Jizi. Mix the yolk with the medicine. Return the mixture to the eggshell. Seal the opening. Allow the hen to incubate it again. Once prepared, wrap in cotton and insert into the deaf ear. Stop when cured.
