Cui’s recommended auspicious days for the first feeding of an infant are those named "Pingding" and "Cheng," which are considered extremely lucky. However, the food fed must not be salty.

For male infants, feeding is prohibited on Wu and Ji days; for female infants, it is prohibited on Bing and Ding days.
Twelve Methods of Expiation and Appeasement
Cui’s record regarding Xuanyuan (If offended by the Heavenly Vice Chancellor Envoy of the Dry Spirit or the Wind Lord, causing the infant to startle and vomit, take a six-cun long pear branch and bury it at the place of birth for great luck.)
Leigong (If offended by Tianma, the Envoy of Taiyin of the Zhen Spirit, causing the infant to feel restless, stifled, and abdominal fullness, resolve this by making cakes from pork of three butchers and performing an expiation ritual at the delivery site for great luck.)
Xianchi (If offended by the Envoy of the Rain Master of Heaven, the Kan Spirit, causing the infant to cry incessantly, use mutton jerky and wine to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune.)
Fenglong (Geng Shen, the Envoy of Dongming of Heaven, also known as Tianpu; if harmed by evil qi, causing the infant to alternate between chills and fever with a distended abdomen, perform an expiation at the birthplace using two white fish. Additionally, throwing one sheng of soybeans into a well is also very auspicious.)
Zhaoyao (If offended by the Heavenly Envoy of the Kun Spirit, causing the infant to startle and chew without food, perform an expiation with wine and cakes at the birthplace to achieve immediate recovery.)
Tianhou (If offended by the Enforcement Envoy of Tianyi, the Wu Spirit, causing the infant to have abdominal distension and staring eyes, perform an expiation at the birthplace using two white fish for good fortune.)
Wushi (If offended by the Guerrilla Envoy of Tianyi General, the Li Spirit, causing the infant to startle with abdominal pain, use five cun of horse meat jerky to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune. Additionally, burying five white fish and date cakes at the birthplace is auspicious.)
Dashì (If offended by the Envoy of Beidou, the Hour Spirit of the Dui Spirit, causing the infant to have abdominal distension and diarrhea, resolve this by offering wine and meat jerky for expiation at the birthplace. Additionally, throwing one sheng of soybeans into a well is auspicious.)
Offending Yuesha (If causing the infant to startle and cry, use the blood of a red rooster to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune.)
Offending Baihu (Use one sheng of rice and three eggs to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune; millet is also acceptable.)
Offending Dafu (Use three sheep livers and one sheng of rice to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune. Alternatively, chicken, ram skin, and millet may be used.)
Offending Riyóu (If causing the infant to suffer from trismus, color changes, and a condition resembling death, use pork from three butchers and wheat rice to perform an expiation at the birthplace for good fortune.)
