Shanfan treats kidney heat. Swelling and tightness of the four limbs. Presence of pinworms. If worms arise in the intestines, it manifests as disease in the kidney. Guan San Formula.
Guanzhong (Scutellariae Barbatae Herba, three large pieces, sliced and roasted)
Ganxi (Drynariae Rhizoma, three liang, roasted)
Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, fifty grains)
Wuyi (Toosendan Fructus, roasted)
Hufen (Lead carbonate, roasted)
Huai pi (Sophorae Tonkinensis Cortex, burnt, each four fen)
Xingren (Prunus armeniaca seed, forty pieces, remove pointed skin, roast and grind)
The above seven ingredients are pounded and sifted. Mixed with Hufen and ground. In the morning, taken with well water drawn before dawn, mixed and administered using a square-inch measure. (All from Volume 8)
Qianjin treats kidney heat with frequent forgetfulness. Hearing impairment in ears. Fullness and tightness of the four limbs, stiffness and rigidity in waist and back affecting movement. Formula.
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix)
Fuling (Poria, this formula states Fushen)
Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma)
Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix)
Cishi (Magnetitum, crushed and wrapped in silk)
Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma)
Xingren (Prunus armeniaca seed, remove pointed skin, those with two kernels)
Daqing (Indigo Naturalis)
Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas, each three liang)
Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix, sliced one sheng)
Lingyangjiao (Saiga Tatarica Cornu, four liang, powdered)
Dan zhuye (Lophatheri Herba, sliced one sheng)
The above twelve ingredients are sliced. With ten dou of water, decoct to obtain three sheng. Remove dregs. Add Mangxiao. Divide into three doses. Taken twice daily. Avoid vinegar substances.
Another formula treats kidney heat. Urine is yellow-red and does not flow out. When it flows, it resembles Gardenia juice or Phellodendri Cortex juice. Whenever there is an urge to urinate, pain occurs at the tip of the penis. Formula.
Yubai pi (Ulmus macrocarpa bark, sliced three sheng)
Huashi (Talcum, eight liang, crushed)
Ziqin (Scutellariae Radix)
Qumai (Dianthi Herba)
Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla, each three liang)
Shiwei (Pyri Folium, four liang, brushed to remove hairs)

The above eight ingredients are sliced. With two dou of water, decoct Cheqian cao to obtain one dou. Remove dregs. Clarify and take nine sheng. Add other herbs. Decoct to obtain three sheng five he. Remove dregs. Warm and divide into four doses. (All from Volume 19)
