Melt beeswax and spread it onto old silk fabric (silk or cotton cloth are both acceptable). Apply it to the affected area according to its size. Simultaneously wrap the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. If it becomes cold, replace it immediately; this method is called "ironing therapy" (Wen Fa).
When the body is exposed to wind-cold, causing pain in the heart and abdomen, reduced appetite, fecal impaction, scanty and difficult urination, obstruction of Qi mechanism between the upper and lower Jiao, and whole-body muscle tension, even leading to... [text incomplete/disordered].
(For paralysis and various wind diseases, please refer to other sections.)
Boil mustard seeds in vinegar, apply a thin layer around the neck, and wrap it with clothing. After one week, remove it, and the illness will be cured. Alternatively, boil white mustard seeds in vinegar and apply them to the neck.
To treat tongue retraction (stiff tongue due to stroke): Another method involves pouring urine on the patient's face to awaken them. Or, place a few drops of turtle urine under the tongue to restore speech. (This also treats tongue retraction caused by stroke).
For Stroke Obstruction Syndrome: First use the Opening Pass Powder. Prepare powder from Arisaema Rhizoma (Nan Xing), Mentha Haplocalyx (Bo He), Pinellia Tuber (Ban Xia), Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit (Zao Jiao), and Asarum Root (Xi Xin). Snuff the powder into the nose; if sneezing occurs, it is treatable; otherwise, it is difficult to treat. (This test can also be used for infantile convulsions).
For stroke coma and unconsciousness: Take Soapberry (Ya Zao Jia) (2 liang, peeled and deseeded) and Raw Alum (Sheng Ming Fan) (1 liang). Boil these two ingredients in water until dissolved, then take out, dry, and grind into fine powder. Chew an appropriate amount.
Rub teeth with dried plum meat (Wu Mei Rou), raw Arisaema Rhizoma (Sheng Nan Xing), and borneol (Bing Pian). Alternatively, dip fresh ginger root into the mixture of Arisaema and borneol to rub the teeth, which will naturally open the jaw. This is named "Opening Jaw Powder" (Kai Guan San). (This was originally a divine prescription for treating infantile trismus). If the mouth cannot open and the sinews are exhausted, it is incurable. Additionally, rubbing teeth with salted plum can open the mouth without damaging the teeth.
Scrophularia Root (Da Ji) and Sophora Root (Ku Shen) (3 liang each). Decoct in white sour liquid and wash the affected area.
Arisaema Rhizoma (Nan Xing) and Aconite Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Chuan Wu). Melt together with beeswax and spread onto the palms and soles (also treats palpitations and fright).
For hemiplegia due to stroke with consolidated exterior pathogenic factors: Grind Ephedra Herb (Ma Huang) and white mustard seeds into powder. Mix with wine to form a paste, apply to half of the body (the affected side), leaving the seven orifices uncovered. Do not cover with paper. Remove once sweating occurs.
For stiff tongue difficult to move and slurred speech due to stroke, attributed to phlegm-saliva obstruction: Use Poria Sclerotium (Fu Ling) (1 liang) and Scorpion Tail (Xie Shao) (14 pieces). Grind into powder, mix with wine, and rub on the tongue.
