Astringent and sour flavors converge the Lung Qi, stabilize three types of parasites within the body, and extract the root of toxicity.

It consolidates essence (Jing), darkens hair, enhances complexion, nourishes blood, and stops bleeding.

Those suffering from malignant nodules or scrofula (tuberculous lymphadenitis) should avoid consuming it; if the disease has already formed, consumption will prevent cure, and if consumed after recovery, relapse may occur.

Patients with hernia should avoid eating it; consuming it with distilled spirits (Baijiu) can lead to death.

Feces from a vigorous adult are preferred. Wash them thoroughly with decoction made from Gleditsiae Sinensis Fruit (Zaojiao), dry them, and boil them in oil until they form cakes that float and turn withered yellow. Incorporate this into plasters to promote tissue regeneration, flesh growth, and hemostasis.

Stir-fry on tiles with earth until carbonized but retaining medicinal properties, then grind into powder. Blowing the powder into the nasal cavity stops epistaxis. Adding Borax (Bingpian) and blowing it treats throat conditions. For dust particles entering the eye, rub the cuticle of the fingernail with saliva and apply to the eye for immediate relief.

Collect infant feces in the twelfth lunar month, dry them in the shade, wrap in mud, and roast into charcoal. It treats heat-induced mania and smallpox toxins. For cases where numbness spreads from the feet to the lower abdomen causing death, or from the head to the heart region causing death, administer once daily to restore consciousness several times. Take three qian of the powder, mix with tofu whey, and ingest for immediate cure.

This refers to the coagulated essence of husband and wife, which settles at the bottom of the latrine pit, commonly known as "Keng Ning" (Pit Coagulum). In regions under Suzhou, Songjiang, Changzhou, and Zhenjiang jurisdiction, many households use vats as toilets. Although convenient to collect, the Keng Ning produced in the pits of monks or widows is unsuitable. Burn it until the smoke ceases, extinguish it, grind it, and use it to treat sores and ulcers of the throat and teeth, as well as bleeding from various orifices and bloody sweat.

Roast into clumps, retain medicinal properties, grind into powder, and use to promote muscle growth.

White and clean specimens that adhere to the tongue are preferred. Catch a swallow, open its abdomen, discard the intestines, fill the cavity with bones, and hang it in a well, approximately one chi above the water surface. After waiting for one shi (two hours), remove it, grind raw, process by water levigation, and dry. This is based on the belief that when dragons are ill, eating swallows cures them, and accessing water allows them to soar. Avoid exposure to fire. It promotes tissue regeneration and wound contraction, treating epistaxis.

The fine scales on the tail are effective. Stir-fry with earth until crisp, grind, and use to unblock meridians and orifices, kill parasites, reduce carbuncles, expel pathogenic wind, dispel accumulated dampness, and cure hemorrhoids.

Snake sheds that fall vertically without touching the ground are preferred. Wrap in mud, burn, remove the mud, and grind into powder. Treats carbuncles and furuncles. Boil snake shed without adding water to make a decoction, apply topically for vitiligo, and wash with it for malignant sores.

Specimens with an upward-pointing nose and square-patterned markings are preferred. Remove the head, soak in wine made from fermented rice grains (Jiuwei), remove skin and bones, roast to prevent insect infestation, and use to treat damp itching.
