应根据方剂配伍使用，（水银）有微毒，治疗恶疮、白秃（头部生疮、脱发），促使死胎排出。
（铅丹）味酸，性平，有微毒，治疗恶疮、疳疮，杀虫，催吐风痰。
（砒石）杀灭疥虫。
（硼砂）味酸，性冷，无毒，消除中风引起的痰浊，制止惊厥呕吐。
（炉甘石）无毒，去除烂孔的毒根，治疗惊痫、痉挛、恶疮、癞癣。
（朱砂）与丹皮各等分煮透，取朱砂研磨，用水飞法处理，能通利九窍，疏通六腑，生津液，分利水道，行散积滞，驱逐凝血，清降心火，解除暑热。
（青黛）性暖，能止咳，治疗喉部疾病及翳障，口齿各类疮疡，颈项僵硬、腰部拘急，用乳汁蘸取点眼，立即痊愈。
（灶心土）即伏龙肝，再次烧红，研磨，用水飞法处理后晒干，用乳汁调敷，立即治疗汤火烫伤及烂孔。
（血余炭）临用时炒至紫色，筛入膏药内，能生肌、治疗湿疮，杀灭疥癣虫。
（五倍子）（即烟胶）刮下硝皮铺中各种皮革的膜，入锅炒成炭，磨成粉，能生肌肉，治疗湿风、脓窠、湿烂等疮疡。
（斑蝥）味辛，性热，有毒，研磨成粉，必须去净油分才妥当。能拔毒。孕妇忌用。
（山楂）炒制后，能消食活血，健脾胃，治疗痢疾。酒服可去除产后恶血。
（香附）顺气，开郁结，炒研可安胎，治疗产后恶露不尽、小腹作痛，生研六钱，用滚水冲服并盖好，温服后立即痊愈。
（莲子）形状尖，入心经，清心火，解鱼鳖毒，生津止渴，蘸明矾食用，味道佳，能豁痰。

It unblocks the nine orifices, benefits the six fu-organs, generates body fluids, separates water pathways, moves stagnation, drives out coagulated blood, descends Heart fire, and resolves summerheat.
