生用损神丧气，切薄片晒干，每一斤用陈酒对浸，浸透取沥晒干，收尽斤酒晒透，炒至
焦脆，疟痰非此不消，炙甘草对分，截疟圣药。
苦寒有毒，去附枝，水煮透去骨，切晒，消颈腋痰块，症结，下痞堕胎，治鼓胀，利二
便。
有毒，忌铁器，捣敷石疽，消尿哽，通二便，疏泄水肿，有排山倒岳之力。腰腹背忌敷
贴。
敲细粒，以萝卜捣烂绞汁煮，再换紫背浮萍汤煮，再煎角刺汤飞过，去尽毒臭，晒干研
粉，
色白，取猪脏淡煮烂熟，每日早晚各取一段，蘸粉分余食。治久痢滑泻，命门不足，虚损泄
精，壮阳道，补筋骨，杀脏虫，长肌肉，治阴蚀。生用杀疮虫，愈瘟鸡。
酸涩有毒，蛀齿点之即落。忌吃烟。
透明者佳。蚀恶肉，固齿，以橄榄蘸食味佳，愈癫症，解肠中毒，治痈痔顽痰。
经制无毒，不伤人畜，同铅入器内，砒放铅底，火熔烟尽为度。铅上刮下者，名金顶砒
。取
香油一两，生砒一钱，研，入油煎，沫尽烟绝，擦鹅掌风，取红枣去核，以砒代核，发扎，
入炭火 至烟尽，取研细粉，名赤霜。治走马牙疳，久溃不敛者，撒上数次收功。生者可疗
冷哮，不伤人者。
生用常山会损伤神气、耗散元气，需切成薄片晒干。每斤常山用陈年酒浸泡，浸透后取汁液再次晒干，直至收尽一斤酒的药力并晒透，再炒至焦脆。疟疾痰饮非此药不能消除，配伍等分的炙甘草，是截断疟疾发作的圣药。
苦参味苦性寒且有剧毒，需去除芦头和枝节，用水煮透后去骨，切片晒干。能消除颈部和腋下的痰核肿块，治疗症瘕积聚，通利二便，但会导致堕胎。用于治疗鼓胀病，通利大小便。
雄黄有毒，忌用铁器处理。捣碎后外敷可治疗石疽，消除尿涩不通，通利二便，疏泄水肿，具有排山倒岳般的强力。腰部、腹部和背部禁止敷贴。
将皂角刺敲成细粒，用萝卜捣烂绞汁煮沸，再换紫背浮萍汤煮沸，再用角刺汤煎煮并飞过（水飞），以去除所有的毒性和臭味，晒干研成粉末。粉末色白，取猪大肠淡煮至烂熟，每日早晚各取一段，蘸取粉末随剩余食物服用。治疗久痢滑泻、命门火衰、虚损遗精，壮阳道，补筋骨，杀灭内脏寄生虫，促进肌肉生长，治疗阴部蚀疮。生用可杀灭皮肤疮虫，治愈瘟鸡病。
朱砂又名腰黄，以透明者为佳，需水飞处理。治疗恶疮死肌，消除痈毒，化解腹中瘀血。
乌梅味酸涩且有微毒，蛀牙时点涂牙齿，牙齿即脱落。忌食烟。
橄榄以透明者为佳。腐蚀恶肉，坚固牙齿，用橄榄蘸食味道极佳。治愈癫症，解除肠道中毒，治疗痈痔顽痰。
经过炮制的砒霜无毒，不伤害人畜。将其与铅一同放入器皿内，将砒霜放在铅底，用火熔化至烟雾散尽为止。从铅上刮下的物质，名为金顶砒。取香油一两，生砒一钱，研磨混合，入油煎炸，待泡沫尽、烟雾绝，涂抹治疗鹅掌风。取红枣去核，以砒霜代替枣核，用线扎紧，放入炭火中烧至烟尽，取出研成细粉，名为赤霜。治疗走马牙疳，对于久溃不愈者，撒上数次即可收功。生砒霜可治疗冷哮，不伤人的砒霜可用。
Shengyong (raw use) of Changshan (Dichroa Root) damages the spirit and dissipates vital energy. It should be sliced thinly, sun-dried, and soaked in aged wine. For every jin (500g), soak until permeated, extract the liquid, sun-dry again, and continue until all the wine's essence is absorbed and dried through. Then stir-fry until scorched and crisp. Malaria phlegm cannot be eliminated without this herb. Paired with an equal portion of Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle, Honey-fried Licorice Root), it is a sacred medicine for arresting malaria.
Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) is bitter, cold, and toxic. Remove the root neck and branches, boil thoroughly in water, remove the woody core, slice, and sun-dry. It eliminates phlegmatic masses in the neck and axilla, treats zhengji (masses and accumulations), promotes urination and defecation, but induces abortion. It treats Guzhang (drum-like distension/ascites) and promotes bowel movements.
Xionghuang (Realgar) is toxic; avoid iron utensils. Crushed and applied externally, it treats Shiju (hard tubercles), eliminates urinary obstruction, promotes urination and defecation, and drains edema with formidable power. Avoid application on the waist, abdomen, and back.
Crush Zaocisi (Hedgehog Spine) into fine particles. Boil in juice extracted from crushed radish, then boil again in decoction of Zibei Fuping (Marsilea quadrifolia), and finally pass through Jiaoci decoction to eliminate all toxicity and odor. Sun-dry and grind into powder. The powder is white. Take segments of pig intestine boiled lightly until soft, dip them in the powder, and consume with leftover meals morning and evening. Treats chronic dysentery with incontinence, Mingmen fire deficiency, deficiency-induced seminal emission, strengthens yang, tonifies sinews and bones, kills internal parasites, promotes muscle growth, and treats yin erosion sores. Raw use kills skin parasites and cures "plague chicken" disease.
Zhusha (Cinnabar), also known as Yao Huang, is best when transparent. Process by wet-grinding (shuifei). Treats malignant sores and necrotic tissue, eliminates carbuncle toxins, and resolves abdominal blood stasis.
Wumei (Mume Fructus) is sour, astringent, and slightly toxic. When applied to decayed teeth, they fall out. Avoid smoking.
Ganlan (Olive Fruit) is best when transparent. Corrodes necrotic tissue, strengthens teeth. Eating olives directly tastes good. Cures epilepsy, resolves intestinal poisoning, and treats stubborn phlegm in carbuncles, hemorrhoids, and ulcers.
Zaofan (Melanterite/Siderite), i.e., Lvfan (Green Vitriol). Treats ganji yellow puffy syndrome, dries spleen dampness, and transforms phlegm.
Processed Pishi (Arsenic Trioxide) is non-toxic and does not harm humans or animals. Place arsenic at the bottom of a vessel containing lead, melt with fire until smoke ceases. Scrape off the substance from the lead surface; it is named Jinding Pi (Gold-top Arsenic). Take 1 liang of sesame oil and 1 qian of raw arsenic, grind together, fry in oil until foam disappears and smoke vanishes. Apply to treat Goose Palm Wind (tinea manuum). Take red dates, remove pits, replace pits with arsenic, tie tightly, and roast in charcoal fire until smoke vanishes. Grind into fine powder; it is named Chishuang (Red Frost). Treats Zhangli Yagan (Rampant Noma/Gangrenous Stomatitis); apply several times until healed. Raw arsenic can treat cold asthma; arsenic that does not harm people is usable.
Zhusha (Cinnabar) ground into powder and processed by wet-grinding nourishes the spirit and calms the soul. Eliminates sudden evil abdominal pain, convulsions, epilepsy, and fetal toxins.
