医方案而戒之曰∶药与病相违，何能济事。仍令服阳和汤一剂胎安，五剂脓溃，十剂痊愈。《内经》所谓治病必
求其本。洵哉斯言。）
消痈护产汤（新方） 治产后痈毒。
当归（一两） 川芎（五钱） 金银花（五钱） 蒲公英（三钱） 荆芥（一钱） 生甘草（二钱）
水煎服。
回阳救产汤（新方） 治产后阴疽。
人参（三钱） 当归（一两） 川芎（五钱） 荆芥（一钱） 上 桂（一钱） 益母草（三钱）
水煎服。
大温中饮（庄在田） 治痘后阴疽。（经云∶痘禀于阴，而成于阳，譬之种豆必赖天气阳和，地上温暖，
而后发生。人身之痘亦犹是也。痘之将出，全仗真阳托送斯时，总宜培补气血疏通经络，毒瓦斯尽化为脓痘后，无
余毒矣。痘师不明此理，皆谓，凉药可以解毒。岂知痘乃胎中阴毒，得阳气则行，得凉药则滞。毒瓦斯因凉药留滞
于肌肉之间，痘后所以发为大疽，名曰∶痘毒。皮色不变者居多，当以此方治之。其色红而带紫者，用荆防地黄
汤愈之。然阴证多，阳证少痘后并未见有阳证之毒也。）
熟地（五钱） 冬术（三钱） 山药（三钱） 西党参（三钱） 生黄 （二钱） 白芥子（一钱原方用柴
胡恐其清利故易之） 甘草（一钱生） 上 桂（一钱） 炮姜（五分） 净麻黄（五分）
水煎服。（一小儿痘后满头溃烂，名曰虚阳贯顶，又曰∶发疸。清脓血水经年不愈，此乃出痘时，误服凉药，
中宫受寒，阳无所根据，上冲头顶。譬之，火炉中以水泼之，则热气必上冲，其理一也。宜用大温中饮与大补元煎
相间服之，引火归元，十剂可愈。大补元煎方未载。）
荆防地黄汤（庄在田） 治痘后痈毒。（此证不多见方亦备参）
熟地（四钱） 山药（二钱） 丹皮（一钱） 茯苓（一钱） 山萸肉（一钱） 荆芥（一钱） 防风（一
钱） 甘草（一钱，生）
水煎服。
解毒至神汤（新方） 治漆疮肿腐。（木形人每患此证）
元参（二钱） 知母（二钱） 石膏（二钱） 连翘（二钱） 牛蒡子（二钱） 大黄（二钱生） 枳壳
（一钱） 川连（六分） 甘草（八分生） 淡竹叶（二十片）
水煎服。如火甚者加芒硝。
又方 治同前证。
白果树叶（芒硝亦可） 煎汤洗浴，立刻消肿。倘愈后不守禁忌，疮疤复萌，变为顽疯癣癞者，急用旱莲草。
（一名醴肠）如前洗数次亦愈。（忌浴热水兼戒口味为要）
泼火汤（新方） 治汤火灼伤。
当归（五钱） 丹皮（三钱） 生地（五钱） 甘草（一钱） 地榆（三钱） 槐花（二钱） 茯苓（五钱）
水煎服。或用白萝卜捣取自然汁，（童便亦可）串服。如伤重便秘者，再加生军。（五钱） 倘山居僻陬，
仓卒无药，止饮萝卜汁亦效。（昔有锦衣杨永兴，厨下夜遭回，禄凡睡此房者，或已死，或将死，灌以生萝卜汁，
良久悉愈。其效如斯，特录。）
祛痛散 治同前证。
地榆（研细末） 用麻油调敷伤处。若遇已破，即以干末掺上，立效如神。或生大黄末，用桐油调敷亦可。
又方 治同前证。
生鸦片（即乌烟） 敷之，立刻清凉止痛。有人被火药烧伤，百药不效，后用此方而愈。
胜灵丹 治金疮出血。
龙眼核（去黑皮） 研极细末掺之，即止血定痛收口，为金疮第一药也。（西平氏云∶此药系西秦巴里坤营
中救愈多人，按龙眼核治金刃伤之功效，甚验。查《本草纲目》及《别集本草》俱未记载，可知世间有用之材，
自古迄今湮没者，不可胜计矣。惜哉！）
二妙膏 治同前证。（或跌磕出血功效甚速，并无留瘀之弊。）
白蜡（一两） 藤黄（三钱）
上用麻油四两溶化，涂伤处立愈。此方定痛止血，及汤火伤皆效。（脚跟擦破亦治）
玉真散 治破伤中风。（是证也，因破伤皮肉被风邪袭入经络，初起寒热交作，牙关紧急，甚则角弓反
张，口吐涎沫，伤处变为干陷，其毒内攻使然。当以此方治之，如或不效，用夺命饮下之使风从大便而出，庶几
得生矣。）
南星（姜汁炒） 防风 白芷 天虫（即僵蚕炒断丝）
上药等分，研极细末。每服三钱。童便和好酒调下。（或改作煎剂亦可，取其汤者荡也。）凡跌打损伤，内
有瘀血者亦效。
夺命饮（新方） 治同前证。
当归（二钱） 白芷（二钱） 僵蚕（二钱炒） 明天麻（二钱） 蝉蜕（二钱） 大黄（五钱） 桃仁
（二十粒） 羌活（二钱） 防风（一钱） 南星（钱半制） 麻黄（五分）
水煎服。甚者五剂痊愈。（如未愈去大黄再服） 外以清和膏盖之。
地榆败毒散（沈雨苍） 治中癫犬毒。（癫犬之患，大抵自惊蛰后，蛇虫出洞。霜降后，蛇虫入洞。出必
吁气，入必吸气，吐纳之毒瓦斯，常留于洞口，犬性喜嗅其毒，从口鼻吸入，遂发癫。名 犬，颈硬、头低、耳垂、
尾弹、直向前行，不返身顾后。若人触其毒，急则七日发作，缓则七七日或至百日发作，卒病心腹痛，神识不清，
痛极，无聊自咬肌肉，甚至嚼瓷器，衣服，惨状难言。欲辨是证，用蒲扇向病患重掮，见风即身缩战栗畏惧，又
或鸣锣闻声，亦惊惕不安，皆其验也。）
西党参（三钱） 羌活（三钱） 独活（三钱） 柴胡（三钱） 前胡（三钱） 甘草（三钱） 茯苓（三
钱） 枳壳（二钱炒用） 抚芎（二钱） 桔梗（二钱） 生地榆（一两） 紫竹根（一把） 生姜（三片）
水煎服。（岁道光丙午，冬路经湘潭，见米船伙卒病，心复剜痛，烦躁欲死，百药罔效，医亦不识何疾。适
同舟醴陵客以蒲扇向病患一掮，大呼曰∶殆哉，此癫犬略发，乃死证也，速用地榆败毒散，大剂浓煎。如牙关紧
闭，以乌梅肉擦之，自开急灌一剂，而神识清，再剂，其病若失此目击经验者。）
（据醴客云∶凡遇癫犬不及趋避，或被咬衔衣即中毒瓦斯，但觉畏风情形，或在七日进药一剂，如病患头上有
红发，宜
拔去之，至二七日嚼生黄豆。如口觉腥味心恶欲呕是毒已净，不必再服，否则必有留毒未净，急再进一剂，至三
七日仍用豆照前，嚼试服至三剂，留毒尽化为脓血，从大便而出，永保无虞。孕妇亦可服。）

万年青（此花盆内多栽之，其叶阔，约一二寸，高约八九寸，老而且浓者是也。）连根捣取汁，服一二碗许，
即腹中毒瓦斯已成血块，从大便出。无论久近皆效，一切不忌，亦仙方也。（俗谓产小狗，此无稽之论，不足信也。）
祛毒散 治毒蛇咬伤。
白芷（五钱） 麦冬（一两去心）
水煎服。滓敷伤处，虽垂死者亦活，此蛇咬第一方也。（邻村丁全龄被毒蛇咬伤，臂肿如股，少刻身胀黄黑
色势，已濒危，照此方煎汤灌之，觉腹中声响，恶水自伤口流出，肿消神清，次日全愈。予乃记之，每治蛇咬多
验。）
百顺膏（新方） 治痈疽发背，及一切无名肿毒。初起者消，已溃者愈，并顽恶疔疮，辄皆奇效，诚疡
科之宝药也。
大虾蟆（二只，即老蟾酥多者佳。） 木芙蓉叶（三两，重阳日采用，或根皮，或花，俱妙。）
上药用麻油一斤，照常熬枯，滤去渣，将油称准，凡药油（二两）入炒过铅粉（一两如数派算）以桑枝搅匀，
熬至滴水取丸不粘指为度，（按《别录》载滴水成珠一说，不可执为定法，恐膏过老耳。）倾入水中，去火性。
凡遇顽恶烂疮，先用葱椒汤洗净贴之，既善拔脓，又能止痛，且易生肌也。此予独得之秘，百发百中，故取义百
顺。（愈后，立誓戒食虾蟆，并刊送劝善录若干部以抵物命，庶不负阴 也，贞庵氏又识）
清和膏（新方） 治痈疽发背，及阴阳不和等毒。初起能活血定痛，散瘀消肿，溃后即拔脓去腐，生肌
长肉，诚外科之秘方也。
木芙蓉（五两，重阳日采叶或根皮或花俱妙。） 紫荆皮（三两） 独活（二两） 南星（两半） 赤芍
（两半） 白芷（一两） 上药用麻油（二斤）熬枯。滤去渣，将油再熬沸，徐徐投入炒飞黄丹，（一斤）或铅
粉亦可。（按《别录》皆云∶熬至滴水成珠，方下黄丹非是，今根据许楣君据占法校正）以桑枝搅匀，至滴水取丸
不粘指为度，倾入水中去火性。摊用。
灵应膏（新方） 治痈疽发背，及一切溃烂等疮，功能长肉生肌收口，诚外科之妙药也。
象皮（陆钱切片） 穿山甲（六钱） 男子发（一两二钱） 牛蒡草（三两） 血竭（二钱） 儿茶（二钱）
白胶香（四钱，即芸香去油研末。）
上药用麻油二斤，将象皮、山甲、男发、牛蒡草煎枯，滤去渣，将油称准，凡药油（一斤）入炒飞黄丹。
（八两）搅匀熬至滴水取丸不粘指为度，离火再入血竭、儿茶、芸香等末搅匀，倾水中去火性。临用重汤炖摊。
紫金膏（新方） 治痈疽发背后，对口大毒，溃烂不堪，洞见内膜者。（脓出如蟹吐沫者，是膜破也。
不治）用此填塞疮孔，即能拔毒去肌收口，诚疡科之要药也。
当归（二两） 白芷（五钱） 癞虾蟆（一只眼红腹无八字纹者勿用）
牛蒡草（三两根茎叶） 上药用麻油一斤，浸五日，入铜杓内慢火熬至药枯，沥去渣，将油再熬沸，下白蜡
（二两）溶化，次下血竭（四钱研末）搅匀，离火半冷，再下白胶香。（四钱去油研末）搅成膏，收储瓷器。浸
水中三日，拔去火性，听用，愈陈愈佳。凡疮口深陷，以新棉絮蘸涂此膏塞之。（仍食，调补气血内服药饵。）
隔蒜灸法 治一切痈疽恶疮。（先宜对证服托里煎剂免致火毒内攻）
独头蒜（切片约二文钱浓）安疮头上，用艾壮灸之。若疮发势大，以蒜捣烂摊患处，将艾铺上烧之，蒜败再
易，不计壮数，总要痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛为止。凡痈疽诸疮，皆因寒邪客于经络，营卫壅遏不行，以致
寒热相搏，用艾蒜灸之，一使毒瓦斯解散，二使好肉不坏，三疮口易敛，直一举而三善备矣。（李迅曰∶痈疽者灸
胜于用药。但头上及腰旁陷中，皆当禁忌，恐以火济火，反贻害也。）
歌曰∶疡科隔蒜灸称奇，头属六阳腰属肾，传与医人莫浪施，此为禁忌总宜知。
洗心涤虑良方 治不忠不孝，无仁无义，恨天怨地，谤圣毁贤，瞒心昧己，刻剥成家。刁唆争讼，向背
乖宜，妒人亲近，妄说是非，逞凶横行，恃势凌善，及一切奸盗邪淫等证。
根据方修治，无不应验。

平地风波。（岁光绪丙子春，予往杭州采药，偶憩西陵路亭，见贴应验良方一张，载云其方来自化人府、劝人县、
灵山会上，《大藏经》中， 治一切性情之病，惜其字颇残缺，因揭归每于缺处补以己意，特附卷末，仰体先哲
一片婆心以博济于元穷也。然则后之阅是方者，更当何如乐善耶，又予之所浓望也然则后之阅是方者，更当何如

歌曰∶紫府仙人授宝方，洗心涤虑养真汤，世间用得诸般药，万祸千灾化吉祥。
医生诊脉后告诫说：“药性与病情相违背，怎么能治好病呢。”仍然让他服用阳和汤一剂，胎气安定；五剂后脓液溃破；十剂后痊愈。《内经》所说的治病必须探求根本原因，确实是这样啊。
消痈护产汤（新方） 治疗产后痈毒。

大温中饮（庄在田） 治疗痘疹后阴疽。（经云：痘疹禀受于阴，而成形于阳，就像种豆子必须依赖天气的阳和之气，地上的温暖环境，然后才能发生。人身上的痘疹也是如此。痘疹将要发出时，全凭真阳托举送行，此时总宜培补气血、疏通经络，使毒瓦斯全部化为脓液，痘后就没有余毒了。痘科医生不明白这个道理，都说凉药可以解毒。哪里知道痘是胎中的阴毒，得到阳气则运行，得到凉药则停滞。毒瓦斯因为凉药而留滞在肌肉之间，所以痘后发为大疽，名叫“痘毒”。皮色不变的居多，应当用此方治疗。如果颜色红而带紫的，用荆防地黄汤治愈它。然而阴证多，阳证少，痘后并没有见过阳证的毒。）

荆防地黄汤（庄在田） 治疗痘后痈毒。（此证不多见，方剂也备作参考）
熟地（四钱） 山药（二钱） 丹皮（一钱） 茯苓（一钱） 山萸肉（一钱） 荆芥（一钱） 防风（一钱） 甘草（一钱，生）
水煎服。
解毒至神汤（新方） 治疗漆疮肿腐。（木形人常患此证）
元参（二钱） 知母（二钱） 石膏（二钱） 连翘（二钱） 牛蒡子（二钱） 大黄（二钱，生） 枳壳（一钱） 川连（六分） 甘草（八分，生） 淡竹叶（二十片）
水煎服。如火势严重的加芒硝。
又方 治疗同上证。
白果树叶（芒硝也可以） 煎汤洗浴，立刻消肿。如果痊愈后不遵守禁忌，疮疤复发，变成顽疯癣癞的，急用旱莲草。（一名醴肠）像前面那样洗几次也能好。（忌洗热水兼戒口欲为重要）

当归（五钱） 丹皮（三钱） 生地（五钱） 甘草（一钱） 地榆（三钱） 槐花（二钱） 茯苓（五钱）
水煎服。或用白萝卜捣取自然汁，（童便也可以）串服。如果伤势重便秘的，再加生大黄。（五钱） 如果在深山僻壤，仓促无药，只喝萝卜汁也有效。（以前有锦衣卫杨永兴，厨房夜里遭回禄之灾，凡是睡过这间房的，有的已死，或将死，灌以生萝卜汁，很久都痊愈了。其效果如此，特别记录。）
祛痛散 治疗同上证。

牛蒡草（三两根茎叶） 上药用麻油一斤，浸五日，入铜杓内慢火熬至药枯，沥去渣，将油再熬沸，下白蜡（二两）溶化，次下血竭（四钱，研末）搅匀，离火半冷，再下白胶香。（四钱，去油研末）搅成膏，收储瓷器。浸水中三日，拔去火性，听用，愈陈愈佳。凡疮口深陷，以新棉絮蘸涂此膏塞之。（仍食，调补气血内服药饵。）
隔蒜灸法 治疗一切痈疽恶疮。（先宜对证服托里煎剂免致火毒内攻）
独头蒜（切片约二文钱厚）安疮头上，用艾壮灸之。若疮发势大，以蒜捣烂摊患处，将艾铺上烧之，蒜败再易，不计壮数，总要痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛为止。凡痈疽诸疮，皆因寒邪客于经络，营卫壅遏不行，以致寒热相搏，用艾蒜灸之，一使毒瓦斯解散，二使好肉不坏，三疮口易敛，直一举而三善备矣。（李迅说：痈疽者灸胜于用药。但头上及腰旁陷中，皆当禁忌，恐以火济火，反贻害也。）
歌曰：疡科隔蒜灸称奇，头属六阳腰属肾，传与医人莫浪施，此为禁忌总宜知。
洗心涤虑良方 治疗不忠不孝，无仁无义，恨天怨地，谤圣毁贤，瞒心昧己，刻剥成家。刁唆争讼，向背乖宜，妒人亲近，妄说是非，逞凶横行，恃势凌善，及一切奸盗邪淫等证。

The physician examined the pulse and admonished, "If the nature of the medicine contradicts the disease, how can it achieve success?" He still ordered the patient to take one dose of Yanghe Tang (Cordyceps Decoction), after which the fetal vitality stabilized; after five doses, the pus ruptured; after ten doses, full recovery was achieved. As stated in the *Neijing* (Classic of Internal Medicine), treating a disease requires seeking its root cause. Indeed, these words are true.
Xiaoyong Huchang Tang (New Formula) treats postpartum carbuncles and sores.
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 1 liang), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 5 qian), Jinyinhua (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae, 5 qian), Gongyinghua (Herba Taraxaci, 3 qian), Jingjie (Fructus Schizonepetae, 1 qian), Sheng Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, 2 qian).

Huiyang Jiuchan Tang (New Formula) treats postpartum yin abscesses.
Renshen (Radix Ginseng, 3 qian), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 1 liang), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 5 qian), Jingjie (Fructus Schizonepetae, 1 qian), Shanggui (Cortex Cinnamomi, 1 qian), Yimucao (Herba Leonuri, 3 qian).
Decoct in water and drink.
Da Wenzhong Yin (Zhuang Zaitian) treats yin abscesses following smallpox. (The classics state: Smallpox is endowed with Yin but takes form through Yang, like planting beans which must rely on the harmonious Yang energy of the weather and the warmth of the ground to sprout. The smallpox on the human body is the same. When smallpox is about to erupt, it relies entirely on True Yang to support and send it forth. At this time, it is always appropriate to tonify Qi and Blood and unblock the meridians, transforming all toxic vapors into pus, leaving no residual toxins after the eruption. Smallpox physicians who do not understand this principle claim that cooling medicines can detoxify. How could they know that smallpox is Yin toxin from the fetus; it moves when it receives Yang energy and stagnates when it receives cooling medicines. Because of the cooling medicines, the toxic vapors remain stagnant between the muscles and skin, causing large abscesses to develop after smallpox, named 'Smallpox Toxin'. Most cases have unchanged skin color and should be treated with this formula. If the color is red with purple hues, treat with Jingfang Dihuang Tang. However, Yin patterns are common while Yang patterns are rare; there are no observed Yang pattern toxins after smallpox.)
Shudi (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, 5 qian), Dongzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, 3 qian), Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae, 3 qian), Xi Dangshen (Radix Codonopsis, 3 qian), Sheng Huangqi (Radix Astragali, 2 qian), Baijiezhi (Semen Sinapis Albae, 1 qian; originally used Chaihu, but changed because its clearing and draining nature might be too harsh), Sheng Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, 1 qian), Shanggui (Cortex Cinnamomi, 1 qian), Paojiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum, 0.5 qian), Jing Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, 0.5 qian).
Decoct in water and drink. (A child had his entire head ulcerated after smallpox, named 'Deficient Yang Piercing the Crown' or 'Fa Dan'. Clear pus and bloody fluid flowed for years without healing. This was due to mistakenly taking cooling medicines during smallpox, causing cold to invade the Middle Jiao, leaving Yang energy without foundation, rushing upward to the crown. It is like pouring water on a hot stove; the heat must rush upward, the principle is the same. It is suitable to alternate Da Wenzhong Yin and Dabu Yuanjian, guiding fire back to its source. Ten doses will cure. The formula for Dabu Yuanjian is not recorded here.)
Jingfang Dihuang Tang (Zhuang Zaitian) treats carbuncles and sores after smallpox. (This pattern is uncommon; the formula is provided for reference.)
Shudi (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, 4 qian), Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae, 2 qian), Danpi (Cortex Moutan, 1 qian), Fuling (Poria, 1 qian), Shanzhuyu (Fructus Corni, 1 qian), Jingjie (Fructus Schizonepetae, 1 qian), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, 1 qian), Sheng Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, 1 qian).
Decoct in water and drink.
Jiedu Zhishen Tang (New Formula) treats swelling and rotting from lacquer allergy. (Individuals with Wood constitution often suffer from this condition.)
Yuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae, 2 qian), Zhimu (Cortex Anemarrhenae, 2 qian), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 2 qian), Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae, 2 qian), Niubangzi (Fructus Arctii, 2 qian), Dasheng (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 2 qian), Zhiqiao (Pericarpium Aurantii, 1 qian), Chuanlian (Rhizoma Coptidis, 6 fen), Sheng Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, 8 fen), Danzhuye (Folium Phyllostachydis Nigrae, 20 leaves).
Decoct in water and drink. Add Mangxiao if the fire intensity is severe.
Another prescription treats the same condition.
Baiguoshuye (Leaf of Ginkgo biloba) or Mangxiao decocted in water for bathing reduces swelling immediately. If, after recovery, taboos are not observed and the scar recurs, turning into stubborn leprosy or tinea, urgently use Hanlianca (Eclipta Herba, also known as Licang). Wash several times as before, and it will heal. (Avoid hot water baths and dietary restrictions are essential.)
Pohuo Tang (New Formula) treats scalds and burns.
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 5 qian), Danpi (Cortex Moutan, 3 qian), Shengdi (Radix Rehmanniae, 5 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 1 qian), Diyü (Radix Sanguisorbae, 3 qian), Huaihua (Flos Sophorae, 2 qian), Fuling (Poria, 5 qian).
Decoct in water and drink. Or crush fresh white radish to extract natural juice (child's urine may also be used) and administer orally. For severe injuries with constipation, add raw Jun (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 5 qian). If in remote mountains where medicine is unavailable, drinking only radish juice is also effective. (Previously, Yang Yongxing of the Imperial Guard suffered a kitchen fire at night. Those who slept in that room, whether dead or dying, were given raw radish juice and recovered completely after some time. Its efficacy is such, recorded specially.)
Qutong San treats the same condition.
Diyü (Radix Sanguisorbae) ground into fine powder, mixed with sesame oil and applied to the wound. If already broken, sprinkle dry powder directly; it works miraculously. Alternatively, raw Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) powder mixed with tung oil can be applied.
Another prescription treats the same condition.
Sheng Yapiansheng (Raw Opium Poppy, i.e., Wuyan) applied provides immediate cooling and pain relief. Someone burned by gunpowder, unresponsive to hundreds of medicines, healed using this prescription.
Shengling Dan treats bleeding from metal wounds.
Longyanhe (Seed of Dimocarpus longan, black skin removed) ground into extremely fine powder and sprinkled stops bleeding, relieves pain, and promotes wound closure; it is the first medicine for metal wounds. (Mr. Xiping said: This medicine saved many people in the Barkol camp in Western Shaanxi. According to records, Longyanhe is very effective for knife and blade wounds. Checking *Bencao Gangmu* and *Bieji Bencao*, it is not recorded. Thus, we know that useful materials in the world, lost from ancient times to the present, are countless. What a pity!)
Ermiao Gao treats the same condition. (It is also very fast for bleeding from falls or bumps, without leaving blood stasis.)
Baila (Beeswax, 1 liang), Tenghuang (Resina Flourensiae, 3 qian).
Melt in 4 liang of sesame oil and apply to the wound for immediate healing. This formula stops bleeding, relieves pain, and is effective for scalds and burns. (Also treats scraped heels.)
Yuzhen San treats wind-stroke after trauma. (This condition occurs when wind-pathogen invades the meridions through broken skin and flesh. Initially, there is alternating chills and fever, lockjaw, and in severe cases, opisthotonos and foaming at the mouth. The wound becomes dry and sunken due to internal attack of toxicity. Treat with this formula. If ineffective, administer Duoming Yin to expel wind through the bowels, offering a chance of survival.)
Nanxing (Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum, stir-fried with ginger juice), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Tianchong (Sericoptera Bombysi, stir-fried until threads break).
Equal parts of the above medicines, ground into extremely fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with child's urine and good wine. (Can also be made into a decoction, utilizing the cleansing power of liquid.) It is also effective for bruises and falls with internal blood stasis.
Duoming Yin (New Formula) treats the same condition.
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 2 qian), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, 2 qian), Jiangcan (Sericoptera Bombysi, 2 qian, stir-fried), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae, 2 qian), Chantui (Periostracum Cicadae, 2 qian), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 5 qian), Taoren (Semen Persicae, 20 grains), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii, 2 qian), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, 1 qian), Nanxing (Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum, 1.5 qian, processed), Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, 0.5 qian).
Decoct in water and drink. Severe cases recover in five doses. (If not cured, remove Dahuang and continue taking.) Cover externally with Qinghe Gao.
Diyu Baidu San (Shen Yu Cang) treats rabies toxin. (Rabies generally appears after Jingzhe when snakes and insects emerge from holes, and subsides after Shuangjiang when they enter. They exhale upon exiting and inhale upon entering; their toxic vapors remain at the hole entrance. Dogs love to sniff this toxin, inhaling it through nose and mouth, leading to madness. Named 'Mad Dog', symptoms include stiff neck, lowered head, drooping ears, twitching tail, walking straight forward without looking back. If humans touch this toxin, it manifests in 7 days if acute, or up to 100 days if chronic. Sudden heart and abdominal pain, confusion, extreme pain, biting own muscles or even porcelain and clothes out of boredom, a miserable sight hard to describe. To distinguish this condition, wave a palm-leaf fan heavily towards the patient; shrinking and trembling in fear upon seeing wind, or being startled by gongs, are confirmatory signs.)
Xi Dangshen (Radix Codonopsis, 3 qian), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii, 3 qian), Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, 3 qian), Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri, 3 qian), Qianhu (Radix Peucedani, 3 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 3 qian), Fuling (Poria, 3 qian), Zhiqiao (Pericarpium Aurantii, 2 qian, stir-fried), Fukxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 2 qian), Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis, 2 qian), Sheng Diyu (Radix Sanguisorbae, 1 liang), Zi Zhu Gen (Radix Bambusae, one handful), Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens, 3 slices).
Decoct in water and drink. (In winter of Bingwu year of Daoguang era, passing through Xiangtan, I saw a rice boat crew member suffering from heart-wrenching pain, restlessness wanting to die, unresponsive to hundreds of medicines, and doctors did not recognize the disease. A passenger from Liling on the same ship waved a palm-leaf fan towards the patient and shouted: Dangerous! This is slight onset of rabies, a fatal condition. Quickly prepare Diyu Baidu San in large dosage and strong decoction. If jaw is locked, rub with sour plum meat to open, then urgently administer one dose. Consciousness cleared after one dose, illness disappeared after two doses. This eyewitness experience.)
(According to the Liling passenger: Whenever encountering a mad dog without time to avoid, or bitten/torn clothing resulting in toxin inhalation, feeling fear of wind, administer one dose within seven days. If the patient has red hair on the head, pluck it out. By the second seven days, chew raw soybeans. If a fishy taste is felt in the mouth and nausea arises, the toxin is clean, no need to continue taking; otherwise, residual toxin remains, urgently administer another dose. By the third seven days, test again with soybeans. Continue taking up to three doses until residual toxin is transformed into pus and blood and expelled through bowels, ensuring permanent safety. Pregnant women can also take it.)
Kuaijie Fang treats the same condition.
Wannianqing (Perennial plant often grown in flower pots, broad leaves about 1-2 cun, height about 8-9 cun, old and thick ones are best). Crush roots and leaves to extract juice, drink 1-2 bowls. Toxin in abdomen forms blood clots and is expelled through bowels. Effective regardless of duration, no taboos, also an immortal formula. (Commonly believed to produce puppies, this is nonsense and not credible.)
Qudu San treats snake bites.
Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, 5 qian), Maidong (Radix Ophiopogonis, 1 liang, heart removed).
Decoct in water and drink. Apply residue to wound; even near-death patients can be revived. This is the first formula for snake bites. (Neighbor Ding Quanling was bitten by a venomous snake, arm swollen like a thigh, body bloated yellow-black shortly after, nearing death. Decocted according to this formula and administered, heard sounds in abdomen, foul water flowed from wound, swelling subsided, consciousness cleared, fully recovered next day. I recorded this, often verified in treating snake bites.)
Baishun Gao (New Formula) treats carbuncles, furuncles, back sores, and all nameless swellings. Reduces early stage, heals ruptured stage, and miraculous for stubborn malignant boils. Truly a treasure of surgery.
Da Xama (Two large toads, preferably those with abundant dried secretion), Mumufurongye (Leaf of Hibiscus mutabilis, 3 liang, collected on Double Ninth Festival, root bark or flowers are also excellent).
Boil in 1 jin of sesame oil until herbs are burnt, filter dregs. Weigh oil accurately. For every 2 liang of medicinal oil, add 1 liang of stir-fried Qianfen (Lead Carbonate). Stir evenly with mulberry branch, boil until dropping a drop into water forms a pill that does not stick to fingers. (Note: *Bielu* mentions 'dropping into water forms a bead', do not adhere strictly as a fixed rule, fearing the ointment becomes too old.) Pour into water to remove fire nature. For stubborn rotten sores, wash with green onion and pepper soup before applying; it extracts pus well, relieves pain, and promotes tissue growth. This is my unique secret, 100% effective, hence named Baishun. (After recovery, vowed to stop eating toads and distributed books promoting goodness to compensate for life taken, thus not betraying hidden virtue. Zhen'an noted again.)
Qinghe Gao (New Formula) treats carbuncles, furuncles, back sores, and toxins from Yin-Yang disharmony. Early stage activates blood, relieves pain, dissipates stasis, reduces swelling. After rupture, extracts pus, removes decay, generates muscle, grows flesh. Truly a secret formula of surgery.
Mumufurong (Leaf/Root bark/Flower of Hibiscus mutabilis, 5 liang, collected on Double Ninth Festival), Zijingpi (Cortex Lauri, 3 liang), Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, 2 liang), Nanxing (Rhizoma Pinelliae, 1.5 liang), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 1.5 liang), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, 1 liang). Boil in 2 jin of sesame oil until burnt. Filter dregs, boil oil again, slowly add Chao Fei Huangdan (Calcined Yellow Lead Oxide, 1 jin) or Qianfen. (Note: *Bielu* says add Huangdan only when 'dropping forms a bead', this is incorrect. Corrected here based on Xu Meijun's method.) Stir with mulberry branch until dropping a drop into water forms a non-sticky pill. Pour into water to remove fire nature. Spread for use.
Lingying Gao (New Formula) treats carbuncles, furuncles, back sores, and all ulcerating sores. Promotes flesh generation, tissue regeneration, and wound closure. Truly a wonderful medicine of surgery.
Xiangpi (Elephant Skin, 6 qian sliced), Chuanshanjia (Scuta Manis, 6 qian), Nanzi Fa (Human Hair, Male, 1.2 liang), Niubangcao (Herba Arctii, 3 liang), Xuexie (Sanguis Draconis, 2 qian), Ercha (Node of Calamus, 2 qian), Baijiaoxiang (Boswellia Resin, 4 qian, de-oiled and powdered).
Boil Elephant Skin, Pangolin Scales, Male Hair, and Niubangcao in 2 jin of sesame oil until burnt. Filter dregs, weigh oil accurately. For every 1 jin of medicinal oil, add 8 liang of Chao Fei Huangdan. Stir evenly, boil until dropping a drop into water forms a non-sticky pill. Remove from fire, add Xuexie, Ercha, Yunxiang powders, stir evenly. Pour into water to remove fire nature. Warm over double boiler and spread before use.
Zijin Gao (New Formula) treats carbuncles, furuncles, back sores, severe opposite-to-mouth toxins, unbearable ulceration, exposing inner membrane. (If pus flows like crab foam, the membrane is broken; untreatable.) Use this to fill the wound cavity, extracting toxin, removing necrotic tissue, and closing the wound. Truly an important medicine of surgery.
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 2 liang), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, 5 qian), Laixama (Toad, one, do not use if eyes are red and belly lacks eight-character pattern), Niubangcao (Stem, leaf, root of Arctium lappa, 3 units).
Soak in 1 jin of sesame oil for five days. Slowly boil in copper spoon until herbs are burnt. Strain dregs, boil oil again. Add Baila (Beeswax, 2 liang) to melt. Then add Xuexie (Sanguis Draconis, 4 qian, powdered), stir evenly. Remove from fire when half cool. Add Baijiaoxiang (Boswellia Resin, 4 qian, de-oiled and powdered), stir into paste. Store in porcelain. Soak in water for three days to remove fire nature. The older, the better. For deep wounds, dip new cotton wadding in this ointment and pack the wound. (Continue taking internal medicines to tonify Qi and Blood.)
Garlic-Separated Moxibustion treats all carbuncles, furuncles, and malignant sores. (First, take appropriate Tuli decoction to prevent fire-toxin from attacking internally.)
Place a slice of Dutou Suan (Single-clove Garlic, thickness approx. 2 wen coins) on the sore. Apply moxa cone and burn. If inflammation is severe, crush garlic and spread on affected area, place moxa on top and burn. Replace garlic when burnt. Do not count the number of cones. Always moxa painful areas until pain ceases, and painless areas until pain arises. All carbuncles and sores are caused by cold pathogen lodging in meridians, blocking Ying and Wei circulation, leading to struggle between cold and heat. Using moxa and garlic disperses toxin, protects healthy flesh, and facilitates wound closure. One action achieves three benefits. (Li Xun said: For carbuncles and furuncles, moxibustion is superior to medicine. But head and waist depression areas are contraindicated, fearing adding fire to fire causes harm.)

Garlic-separated moxibustion in surgery is miraculous,
Head belongs to Six Yang, Waist belongs to Kidney.
Pass to physicians, do not apply rashly,
Know these contraindications thoroughly.
Xixin Dilv Liangfang treats disloyalty, unfilial piety, lack of benevolence and righteousness, hating heaven and blaming earth, slandering sages and destroying worthies, deceiving oneself, exploiting others to build wealth. Instigating lawsuits, inappropriate alliances, jealousy of close ones, spreading rumors, acting violently, bullying the good with power, and all crimes like theft and adultery.
Treatment according to this formula is invariably effective.
Xiaoshun (Filial Piety, 10 parts), Yinde (Hidden Virtue, whole use), Enhui (Grace/Benefit, as given), Shenyan (Prudence in Speech, 1 ingredient), Zixi (Carefulness, 10 parts), Zhongzhi (Loyalty and Uprightness, 1 piece), Anfèn (Contentment with Status, use as needed), Jieyin (Abstinence from Lust, remove heart), Renyi (Benevolence and Righteousness, widely use), Laoshi (Honesty, 1 unit), Haoxin (Good Heart, 1 slice), Xiaoxin (Caution, 1 point), Jiedu (Abstinence from Gambling, wash clean), Xinxing (Trustworthy Conduct, whole use), Heqi (Harmonious Qi, 1 ball), Fangbian (Convenience/Helpfulness, any amount), Rechang (Warm-heartedness, 1 strip), Rendai (Endurance/Patience, 100 units).
Grind these medicines carefully, add Jackfruit (Boluo Mi) to make pills the size of Bodhi seeds. Whenever possible, invite three beneficial friends, and slowly take warm Pingxin Tang. Strictly avoid daggers in smiles, arrows in the dark, and storms on flat ground. (Spring of Bingzi year of Guangxu era, I went to Hangzhou to gather herbs, rested at Xiling Road pavilion, saw a posted effective formula claiming origin from Huaren Fu, Quanren County, Mount Sumeru gathering, in the *Tripitaka*. It treats all diseases of temperament. Regrettably characters were missing, so I filled gaps with my own meaning, attached to end of volume, respecting ancestors' compassionate hearts to benefit the infinite. Readers of this formula later, how much more should you enjoy doing good? This is my earnest hope. Zhen'an respectfully noted.)
