Externally, apply a mixture of sheep fat and powdered Ru Xiang (Frankincense) to the affected area. Apply crushed Huodan Cao (Fire Dan Herb) mixed with vinegar. Alternatively, applying Baiji powder (Bletilla Rhizome) mixed with water yields even better results.

Fen Ying Liu (Starch Thyroid Tumor / Steatocystoma)
Generally, starch tumors are large and necessarily soft. Over time, they gradually enlarge. They appear to contain pus but do not actually contain pus; rather, starchy fluid accumulates inside. If left untreated, after a long period, they become very large and cause further complications. Moxibustion should be applied for more than ten moxa cones. Then, grind Xiong Huang (Realgar) with vinegar, spread it on paper, cut it into a conch shell shape, and cover it on the moxibusted area. Apply an external plaster, changing it every one to two days. Healing occurs once the contents are squeezed out.
Jin Liu Zhui (Tendon Tumor Growth)
When tendon Qi accumulates, it becomes contracted within the tumor. Over time, it gradually enlarges. Generally, the root of the tumor is thin. It can be tied with a fine thread boiled in Yuan Hua (Genkwa Flower). After a long time, it will naturally fall off. Alternatively, it can be removed with a sharp knife. Treating it according to the method for Blood Tumors is also excellent. Internally, administer tonifying agents. Externally, apply Taiyi Plaster.
Qi Liu Zhui (Qi Tumor Growth)
Generally, Qi tumor growths may enlarge over three to five days and shrink after a few more days, fluctuating with the rise and fall of Qi. There is no pain or redness, and the skin remains normal. The growth is not hard. Treatment should involve internally taking Chenxiang Huaqi Wan (Agarwood Qi-Regulating Pill) and Tangye (decoctions) that dissipate Qi. Externally, rub Zhi Qiao (Aurantium Fructus) on the area and apply moxibustion for good effect. Another prescription using Xiangfu San (Cyperi Rhizoma Powder) is also acceptable.
