Gastric abscess presents with swelling and pain at the Zhongwan (CV12) acupoint. The patient does not cough, expectorate, or vomit pus and blood. Its etiology involves toxicity from diet and fire caused by seven emotions (internal heat generated by emotional fluctuations). The timing of treatment and general principles are the same as those for intestinal abscess.
[Note] At the onset of this condition, there is necessarily dull pain and slight swelling at the Zhongwan (CV12) acupoint, accompanied by chills and fever resembling malaria, and dry, scaly skin like fish scales. There is no cough, nor is there expectoration of pus and blood. This arises because toxicity from diet and fire from the seven emotions cause heat pathogens to gather at the stomach opening, forming an abscess. If the pulse is deep and rapid, administer Qingwei Shegan Tang (Clear Stomach Belamcanda Decoction) initially to purge; if the pulse is choppy and stagnant, it indicates blood stasis, and Danpi Tang (Moutan Decoction) should be administered to purge; if the pulse is surging and rapid, it indicates that pus has formed, and Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean Coix Seed Decoction) should be used to drain pus; if the body is fatigued, there is panting and thirst, and urination is frequent, this indicates deficiency of Lung Qi, and Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) added with Kuandonghua (Flos Farfarae) and Wuweizi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis) should be used to tonify. The judgment of life and death prognosis and treatment methods are the same as those for Large Intestine Abscess and Small Intestine Abscess.
Zhongwan (CV12), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Stomach, is located four cun above the umbilicus.

Spleen abscess is凝 (coagulated) by damp-heat and blood stasis, presenting with swelling at the Zhangmen (LR13) acupoint accompanied by dull pain, abdominal distension, dry throat, and short urine. Promoting diuresis to eliminate dampness and invigorating blood to resolve stasis achieves recovery.
[Note] This condition originates at the Zhangmen (LR13) acupoint, necessarily presenting with dull pain and slight swelling. It is caused by excessive consumption of cold and raw foods, combined with damp-heat, or blood stasis stagnating in the Spleen meridian. This leads to abdominal distension, dryness of the pharynx and throat, and scanty, difficult urination. Initially, Dahuang Tang (Rhubarb Decoction) and Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean Coix Seed Decoction) are suitable; using these two formulas together attacks the stagnation and郁 (depression). Once bowel movements and urination are unobstructed and abdominal distension completely subsides, Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) should be used to support the Spleen and regulate. The assessment of favorable and unfavorable prognoses is the same as for gastric abscess.
Zhangmen (LR13), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Spleen, is located six cun lateral to the umbilicus and two cun superiorly.
