In summer, sweat moistens and obstructs the hair follicles (pores), causing prickly heat (commonly known as prickly heat) resembling a rash. Use one liang of mung bean powder, five qian of talcum stone, and two qian of calomel, grind them evenly together, dip soft silk cloth in the mixture, and pat it onto the affected area; or apply finely ground earth from the east wall.
(Also known as "Ghost Rice Bumps," commonly called "Wind-Struck Bumps.")
Initially, the skin itches, followed by the appearance of flat bumps resembling broad beans, accumulating into patches. This occurs due to wind exposure after sweating or dew exposure at night, where wind-dampness pathogens combine to cause the disease.
Externally, soak *Stemona Root* (Bai Bu) in distilled liquor, dip blue cloth in it, and rub the affected area.
Administer Jingfang Baidu San (General Formula No. 4).
This condition mostly occurs in children, caused by contracting abnormal qi of the four seasons, which stagnates in the skin and fails to disperse. It manifests as greenish-purple spots of varying sizes, resembling grapes, appearing anywhere on the head, face, and body. For cases with fever and thirst, Lingjiao Huaban Tang is the primary treatment; for cases without thirst but with fatigue, Buzhong Yiqi Tang added with Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Di) is the primary treatment.
1. If pathogenic toxins transmit to the stomach, causing rotting and bleeding of the gums, internally administer Lingjiao Huaban Tang removing Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cang Zhu), adding Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Sheng Ma) and Puerariae Radix (Ge Gen), and externally apply Zhenzhu San.

Add ten slices of light bamboo leaves, decoct in water until six fen remains, take far from meals.
Buzhong Yiqi Tang (General Formula No. 30).
Zhenzhu San (See Throat Section: Throat Abscess).
The skin initially shows rosy halos that gradually enlarge, becoming edematous and patchy, or elevated and piled like millet grains, accompanied by fever, pain, and itching, with migratory and indefinite locations. Red ones are called Chi You Dan (Red Migratory Erysipelas).
First administer Xiaofeng Yin; for white ones, subsequently administer Buzhong Yiqi Tang increased with Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng), Cicada Slough (Chan Yi), Perilla Leaf (Su Ye), and fresh Polygonum Multiflorum Root (Xian Shou Wu); externally, all cases use gelatin (Guang Jiao) melted by steaming for application until healed.
If the pathogen migrates into the chest and abdomen, it is a adverse prognosis. Avoid pork, mutton, chicken, goose, fishy smells, and all foods that stir wind and dry blood.
1. Pediatric Chi You Dan is caused by toxin received in the womb, often starting on the legs with red swelling in patches; if it migrates over the whole body, death ensues. The treatment method must first use fine porcelain edges for scarification (bloodletting); those who delay and refuse scarification cannot be saved. Take medicines as before.
