痹者，不仁也、骤起也，危极之证。痰在喉中作响，响如打鼾，鼻色白而不肿，诸书皆
称肺绝不救，盖缘误服寒凉以致死耳。如果用桂姜汤服之立愈。倘喉内痰邪塞满，舌有痰护，此
痰不出，声如曳锯，惟误服寒剂，方有是证，迟则痰塞鼻内，气无出入即死。急取鹅毛一根
，粘厘许桐油，入喉一卷，则痰随油吐出，进桂姜汤或归源汤。
桂姜汤
肉桂 炮姜 甘草（各五分）
上共归碗内，取滚水冲入，更将碗炖于滚水中，掉药口许，慢慢咽下立愈。（按此方专
治顷刻而起，前无毫恙者，此阴火虚寒之证，服之立愈。）
归源汤
大附子（生者，一枚，去皮脐，切作大片，用白密涂炙令透老黄色为度。）
上收贮，临用取如粞一粒，口含咽津，治格阳喉痹，顷刻暴痛之证立愈。
喉间红肿疼痛，无别形状，宜先服苏子利喉汤一剂，接后服黄连清喉饮，外吹珍珠散即
愈。如舌下若生一小舌，连喉肿痛，为 舌、喉痈，二者相兼则凶，用珍珠散吹舌根舌下及两旁
，不得间断，服药如喉痈。
一、咽中结块肿痛，水食不通，此危证也，治法如前，兼服百灵丸。
一、女人患喉闭肿痛、乳蛾等证，当问其月经调否。如经闭者，宜用四物汤加茺蔚子、
牛膝、香附、桃仁各二钱服之，俾经脉流通，喉证自愈。如仍未愈，服苏子利喉汤。
苏子利喉汤
苏子 前胡 赤芍（各二钱） 甘草 桔梗（各一钱） 元参 连翘 浙贝（各一钱五分）
上水煎，温服。（按此方可加薄荷二钱或一钱。）
黄连清喉饮
川连（一钱） 桔梗 牛蒡子（炒） 元参 赤芍 荆芥（各一钱五分） 甘草（一钱） 连翘
黄芩 天花粉 射干 防风（各一钱五分）
上水煎，热服。（此方治喉痈实火证也。但喉病实火者少，虚火者多，不可轻试。若寒

百灵丸
百草霜（即锅底煤也。系烧山柴草树方是。除当底及边口不用，浮面与着铁不用，取中
一层收贮。）
上用炼蜜丸芡实大，每用一丸，新汲水化服。（按此方取消化积滞，火化从治之义。）
珍珠散
硼砂 雄精 川连 儿茶 人中白 冰片薄荷叶 黄柏（各末，等分） 大破珠子（研末

上各末戥足，共归一处，如研匀细，瓷瓶密贮听用。
吹喉散（附验。）
冰片（三分） 僵蚕（五厘） 硼砂（二钱） 牙硝（七钱五分）
上共为末，吹喉神效。
附刺少商穴法
治一切喉证肿痛，凡于道路乏医药之处，遇有喉患，药未及备，宜用此法急救之。
穴在手大指内侧，去爪甲角如韭叶，刺入二分许，以手自臂勒至刺处，出血即愈。
四物汤（通用二十三。）
痹证，表现为感觉麻木迟钝、发病突然，属于极其危险的病证。痰液在喉间发出声响，声音如同打鼾，鼻色发白但不肿胀，各类医书都称之为“肺绝”，认为无法救治，这大概是因为误服寒凉药物导致死亡所致。如果此时使用桂姜汤服用，可以立即痊愈。倘若喉内被痰邪完全堵塞，舌面覆盖着痰液，这种痰排不出来，声音像拉锯一样，只有误服寒凉药剂才会出现这种证候，若拖延时间，痰液会堵塞鼻孔，气息无法出入，人就会死亡。紧急情况下取一根鹅毛，粘上少许桐油，伸入喉咙卷动，痰液就会随着油吐出，随后服用桂姜汤或归源汤。
桂姜汤
肉桂、炮姜、甘草（各五分）
以上药材放入碗中，用滚开水冲泡，再将碗置于滚水中炖煮，待药液冷却至微温时，慢慢咽下，即可立即痊愈。（按：此方专门治疗突然发作、此前毫无不适症状的病例，这是阴火虚寒的证候，服用后立竿见影。）
归源汤
大附子（生用的，一枚，去皮和脐部，切成大片，用蜂蜜涂抹炙烤至透亮的老黄色为止。）
将药收好储存，临用时取如米粒大小的一粒，含在口中吞咽津液，用于治疗格阳喉痹，对于顷刻间突发剧痛的证候能立即痊愈。
喉间红肿疼痛，没有其他特殊形态，适宜先服用一剂苏子利喉汤，接着服用黄连清喉饮，外用吹药珍珠散即可痊愈。如果舌下好像长出一个小舌头，连接喉咙并肿痛，称为“重舌”、“喉痈”，两者兼有则病情凶险，使用珍珠散吹敷舌根、舌下及两侧，不得间断，服药方法同喉痈的治疗。
其一，咽喉中有结块肿痛，水和食物都无法通过，这是危重证候，治疗方法同上，兼服百灵丸。
其一，女性患喉闭肿痛、乳蛾等证，应当询问其月经是否调畅。如果经血闭止，适宜使用四物汤加茺蔚子、牛膝、香附、桃仁各二钱服用，使经脉流通，喉证自然痊愈。如果仍未痊愈，再服用苏子利喉汤。
苏子利喉汤
苏子、前胡、赤芍（各二钱），甘草、桔梗（各一钱），元参、连翘、浙贝（各一钱五分）
以上用水煎煮，温服。（按：此方可加入薄荷二钱或一钱。）
黄连清喉饮
川连（一钱），桔梗、牛蒡子（炒）、元参、赤芍、荆芥（各一钱五分），甘草（一钱），连翘、黄芩、天花粉、射干、防风（各一钱五分）
以上用水煎煮，热服。（此方治疗喉痈实火证。但喉病中实火的较少，虚火的较多，不可轻易尝试。若是寒证，必定引起痈肿疼痛非常严重，也只需用苏子利喉汤加倍桔梗，加牛蒡子、射干各一钱半来治疗，兼服百灵丸必定痊愈，这是更好的方法。）
百灵丸
百草霜（即锅底灰。必须是燃烧山柴草树产生的。除去最底层及边缘口部的不用，只取浮面与接触铁器部分不用的中间一层收集储存。）
以上用炼蜜制成如芡实大小的药丸，每次用一丸，用新汲取的凉水化开服用。（按：此方取消化积滞、以火治火的意思。）
珍珠散
硼砂、雄精、川连、儿茶、人中白、冰片、薄荷叶、黄柏（各研成细末，等分），大破珠子（研成细末，减半量）
以上各药末称量准确，混合在一起，研磨均匀细腻，装入瓷瓶密封储存备用。
吹喉散（附有效案例。）
冰片（三分），僵蚕（五厘），硼砂（二钱），牙硝（七钱五分）
以上共研为细末，吹入喉中神效。
附刺少商穴法

Bi syndrome (Obstruction Syndrome) is characterized by numbness and insensitivity, sudden onset, and constitutes a critical condition. Phlegm rattles in the throat, sounding like snoring; the nose appears white without swelling. All medical texts refer to this as "Lung Exhaustion" (Fei Jue), deeming it incurable, largely due to death caused by the mistaken administration of cold-natured drugs. If Guizhi Jiangtang (Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction) is administered at this stage, recovery will be immediate. However, if the throat is completely obstructed by phlegm pathogens, with the tongue coated in phlegm that cannot be expectorated, producing a sound like sawing wood, this condition arises only from the mistaken use of cold purgatives. Delaying treatment allows phlegm to block the nasal passages, preventing Qi from entering or exiting, leading to death. In an emergency, take a single goose feather, coat the tip with a small amount of tung oil, insert it into the throat and roll it; the phlegm will be expelled along with the oil. Subsequently, administer Guizhi Jiangtang (Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction) or Guiyuan Tang (Source-Returning Decoction).
Guizhi Jiangtang (Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction)
Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi), Paojiang (Prepared Rhizoma Zingiberis), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (each 5 fen).
Place all ingredients in a bowl, pour boiling water over them, and then stew the bowl in boiling water. When the decoction cools to lukewarm, swallow it slowly for immediate recovery. (Note: This formula is specifically for cases arising suddenly without prior symptoms, representing a pattern of deficient-cold with floating false heat; it acts immediately.)
Guiyuan Tang (Source-Returning Decoction)
Da Fuzi (Raw Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, one piece, peeled and cored, sliced thickly, brushed with honey, and roasted until thoroughly golden-brown).
Store properly. For use, take a grain-sized piece, hold in the mouth, and swallow saliva. It treats Ge Yang Hou Bi (Gridlock Yang Sore Throat), providing immediate relief for conditions involving sudden, severe pain.
Redness, swelling, and pain in the throat without other specific morphological changes should first be treated with one dose of Suzi Li Hou Tang (Perilla Seed Throat-Unblocking Decoction), followed by Huanglian Qing Hou Yin (Coptis Throat-Clearing Infusion), and external application of Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder). If a small fleshy growth appears under the tongue, connecting to the throat with swelling and pain, it is called Chong She (Double Tongue) and Hou Yong (Throat Abscess); their combination is ominous. Apply Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder) to the root of the tongue, sublingual area, and sides continuously without interruption. Administer oral medicines as per the treatment for Throat Abscess.
1. Swelling, pain, and a lump sensation in the throat with inability to swallow water or food constitute a critical condition. The treatment method is as above, combined with Bailing Wan (Bailling Pill).
1. For women suffering from Hou Bi (Throat Closure) with swelling/pain, Ru E (Gooseberry-like Tonsils), etc., inquire about menstrual regularity. If menstruation is closed/stopped, administer Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) plus Cangwei Zi (Fructus Viticis), Niuxi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae), Xiangfu (Rhizoma Cyperi), and Taoren (Semen Persicae), each 2 qian, to promote meridian circulation, which will allow the throat condition to heal spontaneously. If not yet healed, administer Suzi Li Hou Tang (Perilla Seed Throat-Unblocking Decoction).
Suzi Li Hou Tang (Perilla Seed Throat-Unblocking Decoction)
Suzi (Fructus Perillae), Qianhu (Radix Peucedani), Chi Shao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (each 2 qian); Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae), Jiegeng (Radix Platycodi) (each 1 qian); Yuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae), Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae), Zhe Bei (Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii) (each 1.5 qian).
Decoct in water and take warm. (Note: Bohe (Folium Menthae) 2 qian or 1 qian may be added.)
Huanglian Qing Hou Yin (Coptis Throat-Clearing Infusion)
Chuan Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis) (1 qian); Jiegeng (Radix Platycodi), Niu Bang Zi (Fructus Arctii), Yuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae), Chi Shao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae) (each 1.5 qian); Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (1 qian); Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae), Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae), Tian Hua Fen (Radix Trichosanthis), Shegan (Rhizoma Belamcandae), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) (each 1.5 qian).
Decoct in water and take hot. (This formula treats Excess Fire patterns of Throat Abscess. However, Excess Fire is rare in throat diseases, while Deficient Fire is common; do not use lightly. If it is a Cold pattern causing severe abscess swelling and pain, use Suzi Li Hou Tang (Perilla Seed Throat-Unblocking Decoction) with doubled Jiegeng (Radix Platycodi), plus Niu Bang Zi (Fructus Arctii) and Shegan (Rhizoma Belamcandae) at 1.5 qian each, combined with Bailing Wan (Bailling Pill) for certain cure, which is a superior method.)
Bailing Wan (Bailling Pill)
Baicao Shuang (Soot from Kitchen Chimney/Floor Ash - specifically from burning mountain firewood/grass/trees. Exclude the bottom layer and edge rims; collect only the middle layer away from direct iron contact).
Form pills using refined honey, sized like Coicis Semen (Job's Tears). Take one pill per dose, dissolved in fresh well water. (Note: This formula utilizes the principle of resolving stagnation and treating fire with fire.)
Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder)
Pengsha (Boris Borax), Xiongjing (Realgar), Chuan Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis), Ercha (Catechu), Renzhongbai (Calcinatus Alumen), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum), Bohe Ye (Folium Menthae), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri) (all powdered, equal parts); Da Po Zhu Zi (Concha Margaritifera Interior, powdered, half quantity).
Weigh all powders accurately, mix thoroughly until fine, store in a porcelain bottle tightly sealed for use.
Chui Hou San (Throat-Blowing Powder - Verified Case)
Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) (3 fen), Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) (5 li), Pengsha (Boris Borax) (2 qian), Yaxiao (Natrii Sulfas) (7.5 qian).
Grind all into fine powder and blow into the throat for miraculous effect.
Appendix: Method for Pricking Shaoshang Acupoint
To treat all throat conditions involving swelling and pain, especially when medical supplies are unavailable on the road and drugs cannot be prepared in time, use this method for emergency rescue.
The acupoint is located on the medial side of the thumb, approximately the width of a leek leaf from the corner of the nail. Prick to a depth of about 2 fen. Press from the arm towards the pricked site to induce bleeding, which leads to recovery.
Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) (General Formula No. 23).
