若在妊娠三个月之前想要生男孩，取一把小斧头，悬挂在产妇卧床的下方，斧刃朝下，不要让产妇知道。
若在妊娠三个月之前想要生男孩，取雄鸡尾羽上的三根毛，悄悄安放在产妇的卧席之下，不要让产妇知道。（此法）有效。
又法：从初次察觉怀孕开始，用弓弩的弦束缚在腰部下方，满一百天后取下。这是紫宫玉女的秘传之法。
又法：取丈夫的头发及手足指甲，悄悄安放在卧席之下，不要让产妇知道。
又法：妊娠刚满三个月时，若想生男孩，携带五两雄黄在身上；若想生女孩，携带半两雌黄在身上。
食用鸡蛋和干鲤鱼，会使孩子多生疮疡。
食用豆酱合藿（一种野菜），会导致堕胎。
食用兔肉，会使孩子唇裂（缺唇）。
食用犬肉，会使孩子发声障碍（无声）。
饮酒过多并食用雀肉，会使孩子不知羞耻。
食用桑葚子和鸭子，会使孩子倒悬（难产或胎位不正）。
食用驴马肉，会延长产期。
食用鱼鳖卵，会伤害胎儿。
食用山羊肉，会使孩子多病。
食用骡肉，会导致难产。
食用鸡肉及糯米，会使孩子腹内多虫。
饮用生水，会导致死胎。
