The Heart governs blood and is internally-externally related to the Small Intestine. If there is heat in the Heart that accumulates and does not dissipate, it flows into the Small Intestine, resulting in hematuria (blood in urine). The pulse at the lower position is rapid and forceful. Treatment for hematuria is generally due to pathogenic factors accumulating in the Heart, with toxic heat flowing into the Small Intestine. It is appropriate to take Sheng Gan Di Huang San (Raw Dried Rehmannia Powder).
Sheng Gan Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, 2 liang) Xiong (Radix Chuanxiong, 2 liang) Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, 2 liang) Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra) Mao Gen (Hermosellae Herba) Che Qian (Plantaginis Semen) Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, remove Lu Tou/rhizome stub) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, processed)
The above herbs are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong of water and a piece of Qing Zhu Ru (Bamboo Shavings) the size of a chicken egg. Decoct until only one-fifth of the liquid remains. Strain and discard the dregs. Take warm on an empty stomach.
For hematuria caused by deficiency and damage, use Bai Ye San (Cacumen Platycladi Powder).
