Treatment for infants with redness on the body that spreads to the cheeks, or around the mouth and under the eyes, appearing red as rouge, with the facial skin becoming rough and peeling, gradually spreading to more areas. This is due to Heart Heat (Xin Re).
Danshen Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (1 fen), Huangqin Cortex Scutellariae (1 fen), Mahuang Herba Ephedrae (0.5 liang, roots and nodes removed), Zhike Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (1 fen, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow, placenta removed), Shichangpu Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii (1 fen, chopped).
The above herbs are coarsely pounded and sieved to make a powder. Each dose consists of 1 qian. Add one small cup of water, ten leaves of Zhuye Folium Bambusae, and 0.5 fen of Zhuru Pericarpium Bambusae in Succedaneum. Decoct until five fen remains. Strain the dregs and let it cool to a warm temperature. Administer at any time, adjusting the dosage according to the child's age and size.
