Treats wind-toxin of the Liver and Kidney meridians in men and women. When it attacks upward, it causes redness, itching, and pain in the eyes, along with photophobia and excessive tearing; when it flows downward, it causes sores and tinea on the feet and knees. If previous medications have been ineffective, and one usually feels itching inside both ears, this formula is precisely indicated and will invariably be effective.
Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chuan Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Jili (Tribuli Fructus [Shayuanzi]), Baifuzi (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Rhizoma) (equal parts, used raw).
Grind into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with Bohe Jiu (Mint Wine). For sores caused by Kidney wind-toxin flowing downward, split open a pork kidney, place 2 qian of the powder inside, bind it, wrap, and roast until fragrant and cooked. Chew thoroughly on an empty stomach and swallow with Yan Jiu (Salt Wine).
Treats Zhong Feng (Wind Stroke) and Shang Han (Cold Damage), presenting with fever and aversion to wind, headache and vertigo, nasal congestion with heavy voice, stiffness and urgency in the shoulders and back, body ache, muscle twitching, trismus (lockjaw), chronic or acute head wind, phlegm attacking causing dim vision.
