Treats all injuries caused by metal blades or arrowheads, as well as contusions from falls and blows, bites from cats and dogs, and even cases of apparent death. Immediately apply the powder to the wound, moisten with water, and reapply the powder; the patient will revive and feel no further pain. If there is internal injury with blood entering the Zang-Fu organs, use hot-decocted Tongzi Xiaobian (urine of an uncircumcised boy), add a small amount of wine, mix with one qian of the medicine, and it will take effect immediately. If the intestine protrudes due to being gored by a cow but is not damaged, immediately push it back inside. Use the fine silk fibers from the tip of Sangbaipi (Cortex Mori) as thread to suture the abdomen, and sprinkle the medicine on the sutured area. If Sangbaipi is unavailable, raw hemp fiber can be used. Do not seal the wound, lest pus and blood form. If the wound is dry, moisten it with saliva.
For postpartum women with incomplete lochia discharge, blood confusing the mind, blood syncope, evil blood rushing to the heart, fetal death in utero, or retained placenta leading to apparent death, mix one qian of the medicine with Tongzi Xiaobian (urine of an uncumcised boy). It will expel evil matter resembling pig liver slices, preventing Blood Wind and Blood Qi disorders for life. If there is blood above the diaphragm, vomiting it out or discharging it through urine will yield immediate results.
Luhuang (Sulfur) (Select bright and clean quality, crush into coarse powder, 4 liang) Huarui Shi (Flower Porphyry Stone) (Crush into coarse powder, 1 liang)
Mix the two ingredients evenly. First, reinforce a clay jar with paper筋 (paper strips) and glue mud so it can hold the medicine. After the mud dries, place the medicine inside, seal tightly with mud, and bake in a roasting cage until thoroughly heated. Place it on a square brick inscribed with Bagua (Eight Trigrams) and Wuxing (Five Elements) characters. Use one jin of charcoal, stack layers around, and start lighting fire from below at Si and Wu hours, allowing heat to penetrate gradually upwards. Pick up any falling embers and return them to the fire. Continue until overnight, when the fire cools and charcoal is consumed. Leave for another night. Once the jar is cool and set, remove, grind finely, sift through a silk sieve to extreme fineness, store in a porcelain box, and use according to the aforementioned method.
(Also known as Zheli Shibu San) Treats all carbuncles, ulcers, sores, and boils. Those not yet formed dissipate quickly; those already formed suppurate and drain quickly. Necrotic flesh falls off naturally without the need for knives or sticks. Pain is instantly relieved after taking the medicine, with miraculous efficacy.
Huangqi (Radix Astragali) (Choose those with cotton-like heads, half the thickness of an arrow shaft, 2-3 chi long, with unbranched tips. Wash clean, cut into cun segments, beat to break fibers, soak through in salt water decoction, hold in a cup covered for the duration of a meal, then dry-roast. Grind into fine powder with other herbs, 1 liang) Renshen (Radix Ginseng) (Korean origin is best. Slice. Purple color indicates authenticity. Avoid exposure to fire) Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) (Sichuan origin is superior. Currently, large pieces from Fuzhou are often used. Wash clean, slice, dry-roast) Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) (Select fresh and fragrant ones. Wash clean, slice, dry-roast)
The above ten ingredients should be selected for purity. All must be clean, sun-dried, roasted, and extremely dry before weighing. Except for Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), process them together, grind into fine powder, and mix evenly with Guixin. Take 3 qian to 5-6 qian per dose, mixed with hot wine. Administer several times day and night; more is better. Continue taking it until the wound closes; further administration is even better, as it repairs previous damage and prevents future complications. Non-drinkers may use a strong decoction of Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae) instead, though wine is more effective. Those who drink little may occasionally use wine mixed with Muxiang decoction to mitigate alcohol effects; efficacy remains comparable. Generally, carbuncles and ulcers arise from stagnation of Qi and Blood and accumulation of Wind-Toxin. Delayed treatment leads to external muscle destruction and internal organ attack, causing great harm. Take the medicine as soon as symptoms appear, doubling the dosage. Taking it until slightly intoxicated accelerates efficacy. It disperses Wind-Toxin, promotes circulation in meridians, drains pus, relieves pain, generates flesh, and promotes tissue growth. The medicinal nature is mild; it can be taken by the elderly, children, women, and unmarried girls.
