Take *Anemarrhenae Rhizoma* (Zhimu), including roots and leaves, pound into powder, and take orally. Alternatively, pound with water to extract juice and drink two sheng (approx. 400ml). In summer when traveling outdoors, carry this powder with you; before entering water, sprinkle a small amount upstream to dispel fear and ward off the "Shegong" insect (a venomous aquatic creature). It can also be mixed with water to make a decoction for bathing, which is very effective.
Take seven fresh *Xanthii Fructus* (Cang'er) and alum (Bai Fan) equivalent to the size of a soap pod. Chew these by a man and apply to the bite site; apply the remaining medicine to the swollen area.
To resolve arsenic poisoning and similar conditions:
Take *Dolichoris Semen* (Baibian Dou), quantity as needed, grind into fine powder. Add an equal amount of *Indigo Naturalis* (Qingdai), grind finely together. Then add a small amount of *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) powder and one *Crotonis Fructus* (Badou), keeping the shell and oil intact, and grind separately into fine powder. Take half of this *Crotonis Fructus* mixture and add it to the main powder. Dissolve a large piece of rock sugar in water, mix with the powder to form a large cupful, and drink. After the toxin is expelled through diarrhea, subsequently administer formulas such as Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria).
To resolve drug toxicity:
*Isatidis Radix* (Lan Gen), chopped, one handful; *Phragmitis Rhizoma* (Lu Gen), chopped, one handful; *Vigna radiata Semen* (Lvdou), ground, one fen (approx. 3-5g); Indigo residue (Dian Jiao), ground, two he (approx. 200ml).
First, decoct the two root materials in one bowl of water until reduced to 70%, then filter out the dregs. Next, add the latter two ingredients, mix evenly, and divide into three doses. If foul matter is discharged after one or two doses, do not take further doses.
For any herbal toxicity, immediately have the patient eat several raw black soybeans (*Sojae Semen Nigrum*). If a fishy smell is perceived upon eating, it is not insect toxicity. If symptoms include vomiting, regurgitation, restlessness, and irritability, the antidote must be taken extremely cold to resolve the toxicity.
*Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), one liang, used raw; White flour (Baifan), half liang, used raw; *Corydalis Rhizoma* (Yanhusuo), one liang.
Chop finely. For each dose, take half qian (approx. 1.5-3g), decoct in one zhan (approx. 200ml) of water until reduced to 60%, filter out dregs, let cool, and sip slowly.
Using fresh ginger juice or dried ginger juice orally is beneficial. During the Tang Dynasty, Duke Cui Wei's son died suddenly at night. Liang Xin learned of this and diagnosed him, stating: "He has ingested food poison." The servant asked: "He often eats bamboo chickens, which feed on *Pinelliae Rhizoma* (Banxia) seedlings; it must be *Pinelliae* toxicity." Thus, ginger juice was extracted and forced down his throat, saving his life. Lady Wang from Zhejiang suddenly developed several black spots on her face, which eventually covered her entire face. Seeking medical treatment everywhere proved ineffective. Suddenly, a folk physician encountered her and said: "You have ingested food poison." After one month of treatment, she recovered. When asked for the prescription, he replied that only ginger juice was used. When questioned why, he explained: "She ate turtle doves, which often consume *Pinelliae* seedlings. The toxicity is resolved using ginger."
