Formula for Resolving Gouwen Poison: To treat poisoning from Gynura segetum (Gouwen), causing extreme distress, cyanotic complexion, trismus (lockjaw), cold extremities, and body numbness. The *Zhouhou Fang* states that Gouwen resembles Corni Fructus (Shanzhuyu) or mustard greens, but grows without other grasses nearby. Its stems have hairs, and accidental ingestion is fatal.
The above formula uses 8 liang of Shepherd's Purse (Shepherdia/Shepherd's purse herb - note: text says 荠, likely Shepherds Purse), chopped, boiled in 6 sheng of water until reduced to 3 sheng. If the patient feels cold, take 5 he at a time, twice during the day and three times at night; a concentrated decoction is preferable. Another method involves drinking Cinnamomi Ramulus juice (Cinnamon twig juice). Another method suggests drinking Allii Fistulosi juice (Scallion juice).

Symptoms include maniacal irritability, twisting pain in the heart and abdomen, dizziness with urge to vomit but inability to do so, cyanotic-black complexion, cold extremities, and imminent death if not rescued immediately.
