If the pain is severe, apply a paste made by crushing Wu Mei Rou (Fructus Mume) and fish [material] to the affected area; this is miraculous. (From *Li Lou Qi Fang*)
When both soles of the feet are convexly swollen, with black bean-like lesions appearing on the surface, the sores are hard as nails, the tibia is fragmented, and marrow flows from the pores, accompanied by chills and a craving for alcohol, this indicates a conflict between cold and heat in the Liver and Kidney meridians. Apply Pao Chuan Wu Tou (Prepared Rhizoma Aconiti Kusnezoffii) externally, and internally administer Jiu Zi Tang (Leek Seed Decoction) for effective results. (From *Xia Ziyi Qi Ji Fang*)

Mix with hot wine for oral administration, and apply the dregs topically to the axilla. If the disease is on the left hand, apply to the left axilla; if on the right hand, apply to the right axilla. If on the left foot, apply to the left groin; if on the right foot, apply to the right groin. If in the center, apply to the heart and umbilicus region. Bind securely with cloth. Take five sheng of Xiao Mai (Frumentum Tritici), add nine sheng of water, and boil down to four sheng. Filter the liquid through cotton wool. When the decoction is extremely cold, have the patient lie on a mat and gargle/swallow the liquid to gradually reduce the prolapsed intestines. Do not let the patient know what is happening regarding their back, nor allow multiple people to watch or speak nearby, as this will prevent intestinal reduction. Instead, lift the four corners of the mat and gently shake it to facilitate the natural reduction of the intestines. For ten days, consume only mild delicacies and avoid startling the patient, otherwise death may ensue. (From *Liu Juanzi Gui Yi Fang*)
