[Verse]
Distension and fullness in the chest and heart constitute the disease of *Zixuan* (Fetal Suspension). *Zisu* (Perilla Leaf) and *Yuzi* (Perilla Stem) are treatments inherited from ancient times. One must understand that phlegm-fluid retention requires treatment with cold-dispelling methods. Mr. Li states that fetal ascent causing a deviation of Ministerial Fire occurs; use *Xiaqi Tang* (Qi-Descending Decoction) combined with *Zhike Yin* (Citrus Aurantium Decoction), or decoct *Shoutai San* (Fetal-Thinning Powder) together with *Zisu* (Perilla Leaf). If there is also pounding pain, coma, and stifling sensation, *Congbai* (Scallion White) and *Danggui* (Angelica Sinensis Root) can preserve life.
[Dissertation]
*Zixuan* refers to disharmony of fetal qi, which rushes upward to the heart and abdomen, causing distension, fullness, and pain. This arises from pre-existing cold pathogenic factors leading to fluid retention; when triggered by cold and meeting with qi, it causes abdominal and cardiac distension. Mr. Li said: From the fourth or fifth month onwards, the Ministerial Fire nourishes the fetus, causing fetal heat and rebellious qi to rush to the heart, resulting in cardiac and abdominal distension, fullness, and pain. It is appropriate to use Yan's *Zisu Yin* (Perilla Leaf Decoction) added with *Huangqin* (Scutellaria Root) and *Shanzhi* (Gardeniae Fructus). In cases where *Zixuan* involves extreme fire excess, leading to sudden death due to stifled heart qi, *Zisu Yin* should be administered rapidly for rescue.
[Pulse Diagnosis]
If the pulses at both Chi positions are deep and imperceptible, but labor has caused fetal upward distension and pain while fetal fluids are stable, use *Zisu Yin*. If fetal damage resulted from mistakenly taking abortifacient drugs, use *Xiongguo Tang* (Ligusticum and Angelica Decoction). If the pulse is floating and slippery, use *Congbai Tang* (Scallion White Decoction).

[Verse]
*Taishui* (Fetal Water) is originally a general term. Spleen deficiency leads to water overflowing and flowing horizontally, accompanied by aversion to cold, shivering, and edema of the skin and muscles, panting, sighing, abdominal distension, and bloating. To drain water, follow the ancient method using *Li Yu* (Carp); to strengthen the spleen and preserve life, use *Baizhu* (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome). Generally, regulating qi and harmonizing the spleen and stomach allows the disease to subside through promoting urination and harmonizing the middle jiao.
[Dissertation]
During the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy, the abdomen becomes abnormally large, with chest and abdominal distension, edema of the hands, feet, face, and eyes, rebellious qi, and restlessness. This is due to water accumulation in the uterus, commonly known as *Liuli Tai* (Glaze Fetus). If untreated, it may cause the fetus to have soft and short limbs and diseases. It is appropriate to use *Li Yu Tang* (Carp Decoction), *Zexie San* (Alisma Powder), or *Lingzhu Tang* (Poria and Atractylodes Decoction). Zhang Zhongjing stated: For pregnancy swelling with water qi, heavy body, difficult urination, shivering aversion to cold, and dizziness upon rising, use *Kuiling San* (Abelmoschus and Poria Powder).
[Formulas]
**Li Yu Tang (Carp Decoction)**
*Baizhu* (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), *Shengjiang* (Fresh Ginger) (5 liang), *Fuling* (Poria) (4 liang), *Danggui* (Angelica Sinensis Root), *Baishao* (White Peony Root) (3 liang), *Li Yu* (Carp) (one fish, 2 jin).
First boil the fish until cooked, strain the clear juice, then decoct the herbs. Take five doses.
**Baizhu San (Atractylodes Powder)**
*Baizhu* (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), *Fuling* (Poria), *Zexie* (Alisma Rhizome), *Chenpi* (Aged Tangerine Peel), *Jiangpi* (Ginger Peel), *Dafupi* (Areca Peel), *Muxiang* (Saussurea Root).
Grind into powder and take with *Sharen* (Amomum Fruit) decoction.
**Lingzhu Tang (Poria and Atractylodes Decoction)**
*Fuling* (Poria), *Baizhu* (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) (each 4 liang), *Huangqin* (Scutellaria Root), *Xingren* (Apricot Seed) (each 3 liang), *Xuanjinhua* (Inula Flower) (1 liang), *Juhong* (Tangerine Red Peel).
**Kuiling San (Abelmoschus and Poria Powder)**
*Kuizi* (Abelmoschus Seeds) (half sheng, stir-fried), *Fuling* (Poria) (3 liang).
Grind into powder and take one cun bi (measure) with water.
*Taishui* is the general term. When there is edema of the face and eyes, it is called *Zizhong* (Fetal Edema). When there is chest and abdominal distension, it is called *Ziman* (Fetal Fullness). When only the feet are swollen, it is called *Ziqi* (Fetal Qi). Since the names differ, the severity varies accordingly, and the treatment methods differ based on this distinction.
