[Dietary Taboos]
After conception, one must strictly avoid certain foods. Not only do these violate taboos that disturb fetal Qi, but they also contradict natural principles. If one cannot abstain, it will not only prolong pregnancy and cause difficult labor, but also deform the fetus and harm the mother. Is this not something to beware of?
Eating chicken meat and glutinous rice together causes the child to develop tapeworms (Cunbai Chong). Eating sheep liver causes the child to suffer many hardships. Eating carp and eggs causes the child to develop malnutrition (Gan Syndrome) and many sores. Eating dog meat causes the child to be mute. Eating rabbit meat causes cleft lip in the child. Eating soft-shelled turtle causes short neck in the child and damages the fetus. Eating duck meat together with mulberries causes breech presentation and cold Heart in the child. Eating crab causes transverse presentation in the child. Eating sparrow meat with bean paste causes black spots on the child's face. Eating bean paste with Agastache causes miscarriage. Drinking excessive water leads to sterility. Eating sparrow meat causes the child to lack shame and be promiscuous. Eating goat meat causes the child to be prone to illness. Eating ginger causes polydactyly and sores in the child. Eating toads and eels causes muteness in the child. Eating donkey, mule, or horse meat prolongs pregnancy and causes difficult labor.
Such examples are all verified; thus, one understands the prenatal education methods of the sages.

These must be avoided by women before delivery. This song should be kept in mind.
[Lifestyle Taboos]
The "Manual for Easy Delivery" states: Do not take medicines indiscriminately, do not drink alcohol excessively, do not perform acupuncture and moxibustion arbitrarily, do not defecate in unusual places, and do not lift heavy objects, climb high, or venture into danger. Great fright, if encountered, leads to difficult labor and fetal disease. Do not sleep too much; walk frequently. If the constitution is deficient and Kidney Qi is insufficient, the child may be born with craniolysis (Jielu), with an open fontanelle; warm tonification is suitable. If Spleen and Stomach are disharmonious, and Ying and Wei are deficient and weak, the child will surely be emaciated. Construction and earth-moving at home or in neighboring houses disturb fetal Qi, causing fetal deformation and death. Injury by knife causes physical damage; injury by mud blocks orifices; beating causes dark blue discoloration; binding causes contracture. These effects are as reliable as shadow following form; one must strictly avoid them.
