(Coptis Decoction for the Four Excesses);症状较轻者,使用导赤散(Gastrodia and Rehmannia Decoction)或玉露散(Jade Dew Powder);若属风热证,至宝丹

The medical treatise states: "Internal burning discomfort is termed 'Fan' (Vexation), while restlessness is termed 'Zao' (Agitation)." The term "burning" refers to heat in the Heart Meridian, causing mental confusion, internal vexation, and unease; when the Heart is vexed, Qi stagnates, naturally leading to palpitations or fright. The term "restlessness" refers to wind pathogens invading the Heart Meridian, causing mental confusion, heart agitation generating internal wind; if heat is predominant, there is unease; prolonged vexation leads to fright; if wind is predominant, there is instability; prolonged agitation leads to convulsions. The treatment principle should prioritize cooling the Heart Meridian, reducing fever, and promoting urination.
For severe heat, use Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for the Four Excesses); for mild cases, use Daochi San (Gastrodia and Rehmannia Decoction) or Yulu San (Jade Dew Powder); for wind-heat patterns, Zhibao Dan (Treasure of the Ultimate Pearl), Hupo San (Amber Powder), and Jiedu Wan (Detoxification Pill) are all suitable; for cases with Shanghan (Cold Damage) symptoms, Xiaochaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction), Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction), or Daxiehu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction) with Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) removed and Ge Gen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) added can be used; for cases with fright-heat, Jinbo Zhenxin Wan (Gold Foil Calming Heart Pill) and Qi Wu Huanglian Tang (Seven-Ingredient Coptis Decoction) are particularly effective.
