The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* (Health Preservation Formula for Qigong and Stretching) states: Constrain the Gate of Hun (Ethereal Soul), restrain the Door of Po (Corporeal Soul); this method is called "Grasping Solid" (Wo Gu). Bend the thumb inward to embrace the four smaller fingers. If practiced continuously without cessation, even during sleep one will not open the hands, which prevents being startled by malevolent spirits or nightmares.
It also states: When a person suffers from sudden evil qi or nightmare paralysis (Yan), do not call out loudly immediately, as this may lead to death with no hope of recovery; instead, call softly. It is preferable to call from a distance, and one should not approach closely nor call urgently, as this may cause loss of the soul.
It also states: For those who have died by hanging, if it occurs from morning to evening, although the body has become cold, they can certainly be treated. If it occurs from evening to morning, treatment is difficult. This is because during the day, Yang Qi is abundant, making the flow of Qi easy to restore; at night, Yin Qi is abundant, making the flow of Qi difficult to restore.
It also states: In summer, nights are short and heat prevails, making resuscitation easier.
It also states: Even if breathing has ceased, if the heart region remains slightly warm, survival is possible even after more than a day.
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* states: Clench the teeth fourteen times, then swallow Qi fourteen times. Repeat this cycle three hundred times, then stop. Practice this for twenty days, and all pathogenic factors will be eliminated. After sixty days, minor illnesses will heal. After one hundred days, major illnesses will be eradicated, latent corpse-worms (Shi Shi) will depart, and the face and body will become lustrous.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Consuming various damp-affected foods that appear shadowless leads to sudden onset of Zhu disease (a type of acute infectious disease characterized by wandering pain or paralysis).
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* states: Cross both hands to pat both shoulders and the head/face. Extend elbows upward to the extreme limit while keeping the body level and head tilted back, adopting this posture simultaneously. Shake the elbows up and down twenty-one times. This removes Wind-Zhu pathogens in the shoulders and elbows, relieves stiffness in the throat and neck, and unblocks blood vessels.
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* states: Extend one hand long and join palms; use the other hand to grasp the chin and pull outward, reaching the extreme limit fourteen times. Do the same on the opposite side. Keep the hands still and pull sharply to the sides fourteen times. This removes cervical rigidity, Head Wind, vertigo, Bi syndrome of the throat, coldness in the inner arms, Cold-Zhu, and hemiplegia.
The *Yangsheng Fang* states: Eating sweet rice porridge can transform into Zou Zhu disease (wandering pathogenic invasion) and affect both hypochondriac regions.
The *Yangsheng Fang Daoyin Fa* states: Cross both hands over the head, sit on the ground, slowly extend both legs, and embrace the middle of the knees from the outside with both hands. Bow the head deeply between the knees until painful, crossing hands behind the head, repeating twelve times. This cures Gu poison, Three Corpses poison, and excessive Qi accumulation in the waist.
It also states: According to daily rhythms, when the sun, moon, stars, and sky are clear, lie down at the time of the rooster's crow. Rinse the mouth three times and swallow the saliva. This regulates the Five Viscera, kills Gu worms, and promotes longevity.
It also states: To treat various diseases, evil influences, and Gu poison, lie supine upright. Close the eyes and hold the breath. Visualize the Dantian (Lower Elixir Field). Slowly inhale through the nose until the abdomen is extremely full, then slowly exhale through the mouth without making sound. Ensure inhalation is less than exhalation, stopping when slight sweating occurs. Visualize the five viscera, perceiving their natural colors and forms. Specifically visualize the stomach as bright and white like raw silk. Continue until extreme fatigue and sweating occur, then stop. Apply powder to the body and massage the limbs. If fatigued but without sweat, one may also stop and resume the next day.
Furthermore, visualize great thunder and lightning shining into the abdomen. Persist in this practice without ceasing, and the illness will naturally be eliminated.
